  • Oh sure, about both things you say - some issues require years of experience to fully understand, and learning from books, media and observation is not enough; and the way people judge by the looks is detrimental. I'd go further to suggest our whole cultural patterns are severely disfigured by the amount of superficiality we teach each other from very early age. Becomes very hard to avoid, without isolating oneself into marginal state. It's interesting how some cultures have not gone in such direction of development, and this affects their sanity rather positively, it seems.

You kinda surprised me with confirming the quick conclusions pattern; I had the impression that the INFJ themselves are not fully aware they are doing it. It should have some connection with Ni, because, well, Ni could synthesize a lot of data almost subconsciously.
Well, you're welcome back anytime. I think INFJ-related communities are on average among the most tolerant to feminism, gender equality etc issues. You probably didn't encounter the right people at the right moment, by some bad luck.

Which opens up another topic - INFJ sometimes firmly deciding things based on first impressions. Even though very open-minded and actively seeking communication and variety of information, I've noticed how some categories get very quick description, which stays.

Eg: INFJ would go once or twice to a sports match, encounter some hooligans each time, and decide that this is a brutal human activity, deserving of scorn. Does it only look like that from my viewpoint, or would you as INFJ confirm to have such tendency (to quickly determine things)?
I have seen. They were talking about everybody gathering against one poster, and I still wasn't sure they meant you (or what the hell they meant!). It seemed that you were handling the situation pretty well anyway. :)
You can't seem to think beyond the level of the individual. I was trying to talk about problems with culture and society, and you repeatedly kept bringing the problem back to me and "my attitude".
"Victorian lit (particularly books and films about poor young women who must resort to their wits to make their way in the cold, hard world)"
Me too! Me too! I love, love, love Jane Eyre!
Ha! I am the opposite. I am posting much less in the summer. It just happens to be one of those days. But welcome anyhow. I like your thoughts and style, I look forward to more posts! :)
sorry, I should quit stalking you! I keep bumping into you, and you keep bumping into my thoughts tonight. all good though...
