I learned so much today; for example, the Cty Park Golf Course was established in 1912, there's a CHURCH on the corner of 29th and York and the smudgy brick building across the parking lot from K-Mart is a PHARMACY! And I learned this all from wearing my new glasses! Other news: my spling shade tree has leaves and my little peach tree is beginning to sprout as well. Sadly, even with my new glasses, I could see no sign of life from the clematis.

But, hey, it was a great birthday.

Yeah, the end of the month is also the worst time to have a birthday--or at least celebrate one. Jules has offered to go halvies on the lunch, but Paul is exuding testosterone and insisting on paying, even though he's on the lowest income. Men...!

Yeah, till now I've had a prescription for "working" lenses specifically for middle distances like computer screens. Get 'em checked girl. They're single issue, you know.

Thank YOU. I'm having lunch with Jules and Paul, then picking up my new glasses--BIFOCALS!!! But I'll acyually be able to see, finally.

I just put my sons' pictures up on my profile, along with pics of most of the main characters from the blog. There are some extras in the in the cast as well: Cutter, my Bengal baby, playing in the toilet as he is wont to do (Bengals are aquatic cats), Swimmer, my former service dog before he grew too big to fit on a bus or anywhere else public), Annie our aide, who is more family than employee after ten years +. Even her children and grandchildren have become part of our extended family and we of theirs. I really should write her story someday. She, too has led an interesting life with what most people would consider much tragedy and come out on the other side. We have shored each other up now for years, beginning within a month of her coming to us, when her youngest daughter was brutally murdered.
