Ran across this today. Thought it was interesting. Apparently, she's also recovered remarkably from serious illnesses.

Brooke Greenberg is the size of an infant, with the mental capacity of a toddler.

She turned 16 in January.

"Why doesn't she age?" Howard Greenberg, 52, asked of his daughter. "Is she the fountain of youth?"

Such questions are why scientists are fascinated by Brooke. Among the many documented instances of children who fail to grow or develop in some way, Brooke's case may be unique, according to her doctor, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine pediatrician Lawrence Pakula, in Baltimore.

Now that was a mind blowing article.

I like how the family relates to her as if she were a normal member of the family. It occurred to me how over the years I've heard time and time again from parents about how their young child is such a joy - and then they grow up [said with chagrin]. This is one of those "wishes come true" scenarios where the mom get's to keep her baby - forever.

I know right? The closest thing to this that I'd ever heard about is, you know, Gary Coleman.

I wonder if this means she will live longer than the normal person if she
dies of natural causes as her organs aren't aging at a normal rate to
cause any kind of sudden failure.

This is pretty wild. I'm glad I'm not like that. Sucks for her. She's legal now, though, and Jesus, what implications that has. When you think about it, this is the perfect kid for pedophiles to get their rocks off to... legal, but a baby. Creeeeepy.

She's not "legal."
She's not capable of consent.
It would be the equivolent of raping a mentally disabled person.

People get away with that all the time. Who's going to tell?

(Full disclaimer: I am not endorsing rape of babies, baby-like people, or the disabled. FOR THE RECORDDDD!)

Just admit that you are wrong.

This is one of the most amazing interesting things Ive ever heard.
How is she recovering from all these illnesses? and the organs working independantly- wow. This case has massive implications for anatomy and physiology and the field of medicine
