Comedy panel quiz shows

In the UK I like watching things like mock the week, qi, 8 out of 10 cats does countdown, etc

So I was in that American country thing recently on business. In the evening in my hotel TV was a bit boring.

As far as I could see there wasn't anything like those show, why not ?

If there is what are they called?
