I love this show, it is soo good that its grandeur has put a shadow over anything I thought was entertaining before. It is clever, it is subtle and it is hilarious. Sooo rather than dropping community references all over this forum I am just starting this thread. If there are any other Community watchers out there, I'd like to hear your views.

One recently started conversation was on the difference between a nice girl and a bad girl, and who is more liked by guys.

I wrote:
i think the show community really sums up the fate of a nice girl vs an abrasive girl between the characters of Annie (bubbly, always laughing, but sexually conservative, and boring) and Britta (opinionated, abrasive, sexually experienced, and exciting). While on the show Britta is the love interest, if you go online you will see that more guys actually wanna bang Annie because of how submissive and friendly she is, her niceness really works towards her being more of a naive tease. Hoggle is right, the only down side to a nice girl may be that she won't put out.

No, I think it because Annie's actress is just so much hotter. This is most apparent in the western themed paintball game.

I wrote:
annie is dressed hotter by the producers or whoever, because her character fulfills a guy's fantasy more than Brita's does. and they point fun at this when Annie says she wishes she was wearing pants. on a side note Brita is fully clothed. and the western themed paintball episode isnt the only episode where annie is shown as more of a sex object than brita, this happens in the episode about the oil spill, the debate episode in the debate prep scene between annie and jeff, in the numerous referrences to annie's boobs, in her cute blinking/sad face, i think being the forbidden fruit is her gimmick.

Okie so that's all for now, if I feel something about Community is worth discussing in the future I will post it here :)

And Boooo to no new episode this week!

YAAAAAAAY.

You described it the way I see it too. If you've ever read anything about Dan Harmon, he seems to be a huge INFJ in how he approaches this show from very different angles. Heck, he condensed Joseph Campbell down to a step-by-step process. In the end, though, it's just a brilliantly funny show. Remedial Chaos Theory, anyone?

Edit: Poor Todd. Now that I think about it, turtle-man was probably an INFJ.

@Ciergan thats a really good observation, if not him, then somebody on the writing staff is an INFJ. all those personalities are just so complete and work well together.

now my reason for this post: what is happening to this show?! is it just me or has Community lost it's humour. Season three is sorta dull... which for Community is 10 steps down. i liked the episode with Chang thinking he's a cop, but other than that the show really is getting boring. anyone else feel this way about season three?

I'd give it some time this year. It's still as funny as ever, but it's definitely going in a different direction. Dan Harmon wants this season to have more of a serialized feel, which has made a few episodes feel less tightly structured. The pay-offs aren't going to be evident until they start piling up in later episodes. "Advanced Gay" is the first episode to really let the storyline be front and center. Yes, John Goodman is the main villain this year.

And you didn't like "Remedial Chaos Theory" where they split into multiple timelines? That's easily one of the best episodes the show has ever done.

This is related. And also awesome.

This season has definitely not been bad: like Ciergy says, RCT was awesome, and Chang's film noir story too, as lenina mentioned. But I'm honestly surprisingly bothered by some of the minor characters, like Todd (I hate-but-not-hate,-this-is-just-hyperbole that guy) and Pierce's dad. Goodman lives up to his name, but something still feels a bit off. Mehwhev, still super psyched about the upcoming stuff, Community is defs still the best sit-com on air right now.
