What's your favorite romantic drama in movies, film, or tv?

This type of genre is one of the best but not always appreciated. I am not sure sincere, authentic emotion reflecting feels of love and difficulty with being in love are always portrayed well, but some films are capable of exceeding expectations. The ability to make viewers feel deeply while showing the complexity and intensity of emotions in love is a trait I enjoy seeing in romantic dramas. Of course, you also have those which are light and sweet as well.

Many Korean tv dramas which I have watched. They have love triangles, soap opera, comedy, drama, action etc. Lots of comedy though! They never fail making me laugh or cry. I just like their humor! :D I watch mostly only romantic tv dramas, sometimes movies too.

My favorite romantic dramas are:

Faith (this drama probably made me cry the most ;__;)

Queen In-Hyun's Man

Gu Family Book (more tears...)

I really love Wan Kar Wai's In The Mood For Love:

Hmm... Right now, I could only think of:

  • Slumdog Millionaire
[*]Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
    [*]About Time
(though I think this is more family drama, than romantic drama)
I have trouble distinguishing genres sometimes...

I'm sure there are others, just can't remember :D

Also, a relatively new favorite. The Perfect Sense.

I liked " The Painted Veil ".... The psychology was quite interesting between the characters played by Edward Nortan and Naomi Watts.

I liked 84 Charing Cross Road:

And also Truly Madly Deeply:

Not one of my favorite genres because it usually gets too silly to believe. I liked Prelude to a Kiss, though.

Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Before Midnight

Those are 'true' romance films. I have no interest in the genre, but I love those movies.

1. Clannad and Clannad After Story (For Animation)

It's sweet, innocent, cute romance story with a taste of sad realities of life plus a tragic ending with a twist. It's very heart tugging I swear; I teared up many times... there is depth in the story and full of heartwarming lessons.

2. Sky of Love (Koizora)

It's a Japanese Romantic Movie which made me weep endlessly esp. at the end.. its effects still lingers for 5 days after I'm done watching it. Got the same elements I like.. it's sweet and innocent kind of love story.. :)

4. A Moment to Remember

This one is really heart-wrenching kind of movie. It's like "The Notebook" in Korean version with different twists which is ironically unique. So it's a nice addition to the Romantic Drama.. :)

My idea of the best kind of date, is one that goes on all night (no not like that... pfft..). One where you're not situated in one place and it's a spontaneous adventure. This movie captures that idea for me and I thought it very creative in that sense.

City Lights

The Tramp falls in love with a blind flower girl, and adopts a child left by a dumpster.
To me it's the perfect romantic comedy.
