Kingdoms of Amalur

This should set your nerdgasms off for those of you who are so inclined.

Found something that piqued my gaming interest. Apparently there's a single player RPG coming out called "Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning". It's going to be the first game set in a new fantasy IP known as the Kingdoms of Amalur which is created by R.A. Salvatore. Not only that but the art direction is headed up by Todd McFarlane.

The most interesting thing is this is supposedly a precursor to an MMO set in the same universe.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is set for an Autumn 2011 release. might be something to keep on the radar.

Salvatore is a fantastic world builder and story teller (wish I could say the same for his actual writing). I think this would be interesting to play.

Unfortunately, I know better than to get sucked into gaming again. I'll live vicariously through you folks

Except they're going for an open world action RPG. Like Dragon Age though, they're pushing to expand the world via merchandise.
