Hi it's Ezra! You might remember me from such appreciation threads as "Kurt Weill Appreciation Thread (Mack the Knife, Pirate Jenny, etc.) and "Nic Cage Appreciation Thread".

I've come here today to show appreciation for the YouTube channel "Lasagna Cat".

Lasagna Cat is a parody account that recreates Garfield strips and then features a sketch that shows how they interpret them.

The channel has just come back from a 9 year break and have recently uploaded 13 videos of great content.

Here is an example of a Lasagna Cat video:

In this video they recreate a Garfield cartoon from February 26 2003, where Jon says that he will stay in all night to try different shampoos. Garfield quips that Jon will also try furniture polish. To recreate what we have just seen, the auteurs create a scene where Jon gets sprayed on his face by a number of Japanese gentlemen in an erotic fashion, after which Garfield joins them dressed as a geisha and pours furniture polish on Jon's head. It is rare that you see a comedic sketch show Japanese culture in this kind of respectful and truthful manner.

It's this kind of content that makes Lasagna Cat one of the modern art movements top contributors.

Their first video back asked viewers to call a toll-free hotline and tell them how many sexual partners they have had. After a few weeks, they crated this 4 hour and 40 minutes long video featuring every single response:

It is rare that a video channel of this quality comes along. We should all show appreciation of their contribution to modern culture by watching, and liking, all of their content.

Please share your favorite moments of their videos in this thread. Thank you!
