MGMT (Time to Pretend)

Ok, so for some reason I was struck to do a vocal cover of this song. I would appreciate feedback and constructive criticism. I'm a bit self-conscious, but I need to get over that, so public exposure it is...

I think a better mic would help a lot...the $10 mic I used just doesn't seem to do the trick. A lot of background fuzz that I have to edit out, and it sounds way too reverby. Could be worse, though.

First, I must point out that I am absolutely in love with MGMT. They are one of my absolute favorites and it's nice to meet someone who also enjoys them!

On to your vocal cover, I think you are right about the reverb it's a bit much. Also, I suggesting turning the vocals up at bit, they are overpowered by the music. They are supposed to blend, but not so much. From what I can tell you seem to have a solid voice, I just suggest being a bit more confident with it and putting it out there! Overall, I enjoyed listening to it and thanks for posting!

Thanks for listening. Yeah, the more I listen the more the reverb irks me. Sound like I recorded it in my bathroom or something. I think the mic was being dodgy, because I've never had that problem before. I'll have to tweak around on it some more.

Edit: To be honest, this genre of music isn't something I'm used to doing at all. I feel like my voice needs a lot of work to be up to par.
