I feel like I'm living in an SP society of hedonism, lots of great experiences, but no depth. Sometimes I wish I could live back in the Romantic era.
When did "righteous" become synonymous with "self righteous"?
When did "having good judgment" become "judgmental"?
There are times in history when our traits were valued. What happened?

The world moved on, and people who were outgoing, assertive, and noisy when needed became the go-to kind of people.

It is what it is. Regrettable, yes, but 'What is, is.'

I disagree. I think a lot of people still value these things. It's just that they're more in the background, and not as "cool" to think about so it's not something media and other public things care to cast much light upon. If there weren't people in society that held these values, we wouldn't have the reasonably functioning one that we do now. These are the people working in the office buildings and government offices, while the people you see out in the streets messing around are the "SPs" you speak of. To be honest, I think you're bringing up two different and mostly unrelated topics here. One is to do with semantics, the other with fast-paced culture.

You want to live back in the day where people shit in buckets and dumped it out their windows? Where Cholera and E coli thrived in more places than just Jack in the Box? Where if you got hurt, and missed work, not only was there no aflac, but they cut your arms open to release blood?

Okey dokey artichokey, but I however,

am allergic to artichokes.

aka noooooooo thank you.

brb orgy party @ the club

As usual, full of wit and win, @saru .

I sometimes feel... weird about being here.. because I disagree with almost everything that happens around me, and then I get to dreaming and imagining a better way to do things..
But I don't want to go back to any time period in history... I wish I were born a thousand or so years into the future.

This assumes that there's still human existence after 2012.

*Although to be serious, I do agree with you in that the world is incredibly superficial and obnoxoius. God, I hate Twitter. And, those friggen Acuvue commercials on youtube.

But again, this doesn't mean I want to time travel back to when being clean was when you smothered your body with animal fat and lilacs.

And they say Dove makes bad soap. Yikes.

At least its not at an internet cafe infested with asians!

oh wait.

Hi Niffer.....

Lol idk.

If I was a 50 year old north american lady like GracieRuth in some internet cafe in asia, I'd be starting to feel pretty wistful about life too.

indeed.

The only solution is to pull the life support.

To the internet.
