Not a great deal, except that they probably hold at least 50% if not more of the manuscripts (hand-written books) of Western history/science/religious texts/poetry/etc. avaiable before the invention of the printing press.

I would love to have a chance even to look through their titles/inventory.
 
I want to too. I also mean the so called black library mentioned in the dan brown movie, and several other sources.

These are presumably books stolen from their owners and authors, kept apart from the world because of their heresy, and now both that, guilt and tradition.

Those are the books i want to read.
 
I remember hearing once that most Ecclesiastical libraries had a "hell" section in which those kinds of books were kept. A handy device for your browsing pleasure.

Not the St Francis Theological College, Trinity or Banyo... I checked.
