Seriously. In the early 2000's there were all these cool bands like Glassjaw, Protest the Hero, Fall of Troy, Refused, and At the Drive In/Mars Volta. But now it just doesn't seem like there are any bands playing this music and no audience for it. Did it all just become djent now? I mean, I like me some Meshuggah and Animals as Leaders every now and then, but metal really isn't my bag, man.

I know, Mars Volta broke up...sad times. Protest the Hero are still going strong as far as I know. I missed seeing them in Dublin last year.

I kinda prefer the djent/tech metal scene myself although I've kind of drifted from the scene a little because it's become it's become so oversaturated with mediocre sameness. What kind of bands do you listen to? I'll see if I can think up any recommendations.

I really miss Bear vs. Shark. They were from my state.
