For my degree program, I have to have so many hours of observing/one-on-one teaching with students in the area before I'm allowed to have a yearlong student teaching/internship program at a local school. Tomorrow I'm going in to a 6th grade class to help them with editing papers they'll be turning in, and holding one-on-one conferences with some of the students to take notes on their learning experiences. It's pretty interesting, but I'm looking forward to later this semester when I go to the high school near by and start working with the high schoolers (I'm double majoring in English and History, so I'm really excited to start observing those classes so I can work towards my certification)
