I gave you 'reputation' for your comment in the gay marriage thread. Essencially what I was saying is I agree with what you said and I think you have the right stance on it (especially that gay couples have the potential to raise a child just as well as anyone else). The excuse part, I was referring to the other people who had posted and disagreed saying that gay couples couldn't raise children as well as heterosexual couples.
Someone adds to your reputation when they like a post that you've made. It gives you reputation points, which in all honesty don't mean a whole lot, except that people like/respect what you post. A reputation comment is just a notification that someone liked your post and it's a little description of why they liked it. If you click on the notification it will take you to the specific post that they liked.
