Though one can experience `art' and manifest artistry in programming/scripting/composing it seems that what one experiences qualifies as less visceral, sensory, and Kinesthetic ... and rather more abstract and cerebral.
I can program/script in a variety of languages/syntaxes/notations though my musical prowess is presently limited to the kazoo. I've been playing and experimenting with GRACE and common music over the course of the last month or so. Can't say that I'm ether a better player or composer at this point though. Seems that I'm still better equipped to play the perfect zen zero silences between the notes. 8-}

I've been participating in a few threads in INTP Central started by a guy working in the music industry who wants to transition over from music to computer programming.
In the course of boning up on ways to use music to promote the learning of programming I've discovered some music software developed at Standford.
Have you, by any chance, heard of the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics ?
