How are there not better security measures at live gigs?
I posted this thread so the subject could be discussed, to alleviate anxiety. The people who did this? That's what they want. We're in more danger from junk food than them.
I've been to loads of music gigs, sports events, etc with no issues, other than long queues and extortionate prices. These amateurish fanatics will be found, and dealt with. I understand what you say, but it's the "fight and flight" instinct they want to exploit. I think it's crucial we don't allow that to happen.
There were nearly 2000 UK traffic accident deaths in 2013 (34,000 in USA ). There have been less than 150 deaths from terrorism in the UK in the last decade. There will undoubtedly be improved security measures at public events.
I think information is the "fear killer" that helps us put things in perspective. It's horrible what happened, but I refuse to let that intimidate me or deter me from anything I want to do.
