Do Animals Like You?

I used to be terribly afraid of dogs, particularly because they wouldn't leave me alone. Cats made me nervous, too, but I like animals very much once I warm up to them. Also, I clearly am not afraid of them anymore as I now have a cat of my own.

I don't know that that means that animals like me in particular, though. Dogs are pretty friendly, in general. And, in fact, the reason cats were always approaching me was probably because I was avoiding eye contact at all cost, and cats love that. Dogs probably liked me because I ran away from them. I'm sure they probably thought it was some sort of fun little game I was initiating.

I don't believe animals are conscious of their feelings...But if they do, from observation I'd say they hate me, giving me all kinds of allergies, especially those abhorrently adorable fur creatures called cats.

"He/she doesn't normally do that with strangers" is something I hear quite often from cats' owners. Also, I like to greet cats I meet outside, and they like to greet me.

This statement and this example aren't really coherent if one considers that the cockroaches are landing on your because they have an affinity towards you.

Dogs also like me, but less so.

They love me, its weird. I think its because I am pretty calm and that soothes them.

Yes, I love animals and they tend to love me. I have a special connection with cats though. The family cats always hang out in my room when I'm home. When we went to the pound to pick the two out, the one I picked actually picked me. I was walking near the cages and all of a sudden I feel little kitten paws grabbing me through the bars. I decided that one was the one I wanted. My sister picked out the other (which I love just as much). Cats seem to just have so much in common with me. One of my animal totems is consistently the Black Panther. It is also my favorite animal. Oddly enough, I have had several dreams about it.

I love cats. I can usually get them to come to me by being patient and a few body language tricks

Cats love me, but I really really really dislike them.

cats mostly don't like to be approached directly (unless they are extremely friendly) and in a room full of strangers where most of them are calling them and trying to touch them they are most likely to approach to ones that don't do so. This is my experience with cats.

Well, that explains it then. I should start annoying them on purpose.
