[...] The human mind is a powerful thing and I think it communicates to us in ways that aren't always instantly understandable....
There are all these amazing things going on so I respect peoples different experiences, but i think they should try and interprete what is going on in their mind before looking for some explanation external to reality. Thats not to say that i think these experiences don't have some deep significance or speak to us of some fundamental truth, i think they do.
Really great post there
I like that you added mountain climbing and gardening. I feel the same way. I also want to add this arrival of brain wave audio, where the beats are made to alter your brain wave patterns. For meditation etc. I have used them myself but I don't like them, my brain feels like it's vibrating. I've returned to simpler things like drawing and so on...
Hit something I have been thinking about. My experiences are such that I can't define and in the beginning I had looked all over the web but couldn't find anything similar nor anyone who has had the same experiences. So it just pushes me to focus on if there is a meaning behind it... I can't speak for everyone here, but I know all of mine have directed me to go in certain directions.
We get so caught up in the external, what we think of as reality that when we experience things like this we apply those ideas to it --but it is a spiritual nature
(and so are we).. I guess it boils down to : It does not matter if it is real or can be proven or not. That is besides the point. The aim is, what can I learn from this? What does it have to offer?
The same goes for dreams and dream interpretation books. Your mind speaks in your language. You're the only one who can translate. In a sense it is nicer not to have things defined, put in boxes, because if it wasn't that way you would just then listen to that system someone(s) had created, instead of doing the thinking and work yourself... which will only keep you from growing more (spiritually). You are more flexible and have more opportunity when you are free from constraints
This is a very personal subject, I have voted and already said my experiences. I, however, cannot fathom not seeing them. Whats it like?
What I notice is all of my experiences have come without the use of my eyes
It's usually in the form of touch or hearing.
I never just 'sense' a presence. Mine come through the 5 senses. For example, once in the evening I felt cool air/wind swirling above me and then all around. I could feel my hair swaying back and forth. Afterwards something very warm touched exactly half of my face. What's interesting is that I was under a blanket, so I would have been completely warm, but the cool air made its way through there also.
It's interesting because if the mind/brain sends you messages, it is like your mind is in a way separate from you. Or, it is ours but it is also part of a whole, something bigger. I don't get a presence of another 'person'. I still feel it is either myself (depending on the experience) or really just something, familiar.
