Don't know where else to post this/how to say this

I don't think you are mentally ill or crazy, but I don't believe you have those powers you're describing. You might believe that you have them, but I don't believe they are real.

When you were tested by psychologists, you must have scored high on some of the eccentric personality traits, but maybe not enough to qualify for a diagnosis. So they were probably right when they said there wasn't anything wrong with you.

I know several people who claim to have psychic powers. It doesn't mean they're crazy or ill for either claiming - or believing - or both claiming and believing they have those powers.

A lot of INFJs believe they do.

You need to define the terms "psychic" and "powers". I don't like the sound of, or believe in either.

Real people who have any sort of ability are usually scared shirtless by these abilities, as our OP (Truth Eternity) seems to be.

By powers I mean abilities. OP used the word 'power' h**self. Psychic = supernatural/unexplainable abilities that surpasses the laws of physics? I don't know the exact definition of either 'psychic' or 'power', but they are commonly used together when referring to the phenomenon.

I don't understand what you mean to say with this quote?

Assuming you are telling the truth and:

1) actually have these powers
2) have been tested and are not mentally ill

Then you should seek out parapsychologists specifically for further testing. Alternatively, introduce yourself to organizations like IONS ( https://noetic.org ). Parapsychology is a controversial field, but would likely provide the most resources for further exploration.

Mostly super minor. I can't do anything like shoot fire or electricity like a damn superhero, but I can heat up nearby objects with my hands or create a decent amount of static electricity (like enough to sometimes shock people on command when I touch them or create a short electric spark when getting too close to any metal, again, on command). The levitation I spoke of is only strong enough to slow down a fall or go up about an inch or 2. The "teleportation" thing i said is exactly how I described it, and I can't really control when or much of how it happens, and only happens very rarely. I actually can tell the future. That one's solid.

Okay, I was concerned you were going with the theatrical version of both terms, which is what all too many people think these days, by which anyone associated with them is deemed certifiably crazy.
"Phenomenon" is a much better term to use in my book to differentiate between reality and fiction.

Sorry about that quote - I pulled it intending to write a bit about my experiences as a child, but zapped that bit as it was about me and not our OP.
What it boiled down to was it's not about believing you have something strange occurring as much as it is experiencing it and trying to ignore it to keep one's sanity. For Example: when a child shares info about seeing and talking with a deceased relative the parents get concerned (is he sane?!), when in reality there is a chance they were interacting with something really there. I never had that experience as a child, but my son did. I know he was not nuts as he was quoting his grandfather perfectly, words and phrases he otherwise would not have known at 4 years old.

Thanks. I'll look into parapsychology. I, however, am not willing to put myself into the interests of an organization without significant research on their intentions. But I'll look into what IONS is.

Yeah, I like 'Phenomenon' much better than 'Powers' or 'Psychic'. Those were just the first terms to pop into my head.

Have you considered other explanations for these occurrences?

Yeah. And over the years I just accepted they were a thing that happens. I really just ignore them and live my life, but as long as they exist, I am slightly propelled in finding out what causes them/why I can do these things. It can be really stressful, especially as an INFJ, since I already have a bunch of stress and other things going through my mind, and don't need to deal with weird ass phenomena happening as well. Sometimes I take like 20 minutes to an hour to look into it, but never find anything other than "Chakra and the power of nature" and other bs like that.

I really do feel for you on the visions of tragedies. Those brought me to my breaking point too, particularly after I had one I thought was real and I found out it hadn't happened for a year. The thought that I might have had a chance to stop it from happening made the mourning I had already gone through worse. (It was of someone I placed in the role of mentor passing from simple pneumonia) Again, simply ask/make up your mind that that ability needs to go away and it will.

I can't speak to any of the other phenomena you've experienced, they sound intense. My EE side needs to ask: have you found that you go though an inordinate number of computer and phone devices?

Wyote may look like a mild mannered Admin, but turns into Super Troll as soon as he gets near a phone booth.
It's the glasses. They throw us off every time.

Okay, I see. No worries.

Yeah, I meant to say that there's nothing wrong with believing in, or believing one has such abilities. In some cases it can be a sign of illness, but in most cases it's not.

There's also a difference in believing and claiming to have these abilities. Some people genuinely believe they have them, others find comfort in the unexplainable and unconsciously choose to believe it, some people have a need to feel special/admired, others see an opportunity to earn money.

When someone says they have psychic abilities, I don't believe them 10/10. It just means that I find it highly likely that there are better explanations for whatever made them believe that. That doesn't mean I think they are liars, I just don't believe they have the abilities they say/think they have.

I'm not denying the existence of such abilities. But nothing that has ever happened (reliably documented), can only, or best be explained by supernatural forces.
