Aliens see an old TV show(Think star trek) and think that they are historical documents, and model their lifestyles(And pretty much everything else) based on the show. They enlist the original cast(Thinking they're this awesome elite space crew) to help them with a serious problem.

Guy Fleegman: I changed my mind. I wanna go back.
