How do you make an impression?

Ummm, I value manners so I show it as well..
Dno if that makes an impression. Probably not. No one cares alot for manners anymore.
 
I sit there, awkwardly. If I'm really on
my game I'll either start crying or will
say something that I only seem to find
hilarious and will laugh until ignored,
and then I just go hide my rejected
self someplace safe.

I make an effort to do what impresses me; make eye contact, smile broadly but with genuine emotion, be "slow to speak but swift to listen", shake hands firmly, steer the conversation away from banal subjects (which so often happens in small talk), make the other person feel more interesting than they believe they are, find common ground and explore their passions.
