I used to live in a house with the thinnest walls ever. when my landlady's friends would come and stay, they would always have sex loudly in the next room. whenever they did, I would put on very loud, very annoying music, usually containing a banjo, just so they knew they were annoying me.

Maybe that's what your opening line to your roomate. "I'm embarrassed bringing this up. When your girlfriend is here, I hear everything."

Somehow you have to tell him:

1 - You hear it.
2 - You are embarrassed.
3 - You don't want to hear it.

How you finally tell him will be your choice. If you're not good doing face-to-face, try leaving a note on his pillow just before you leave, but when you know he'll be coming in to find it. Maybe also offer a solution as to a possible schedule of when you will be out, and it's ok, and when you'll be in and it's not so ok.

If he's got any respect, he'll be understanding and want to work on the issue.

The onus is on you.

YOU can say something and get them to understand the problem. Or YOU will have to live with the annoyance. Other people are not mind readers and you should not expect them to figure it out on their own. It might make you unconfortable, but that's your responsibillity to say something, and no one elses.

Don't be passive about say how you feel. If you don't you risk your relationship with these people dissolving.

yeah, I think all you have to do is comicly remind your roommate that you actually exist while he's doing the deed and you'll find that things improve.

You should just say somthing, but I dont see why they should be quite just for your sake.
