I mean seriously...*seriously*?!

How come we don't have a One Monkey Choking Another Monkey smilie???

It makes me upset that I am the same species as people like that sometimes...

(But in actuality I can handle these stories more animal abuse, that I just cant even listen too. )

i'm the exact opposite, i find that i can handle animal abuse stories better.
though really, i'd prefer neither.

I react similarly to both human and animal abuse stories, but since animals have much shorter lifespans, and far greater abilities to forgive/forget/adapt, I really do find the most disturbing stories of all are those about abuse of children... who have their whole lives ahead of them and memories so terrible that many of us can't even bear to read them.

Yeah I found out about this from a friend... Needless to say I was depressed for a while.

Referiing to different kinds of abuse. I can handle abuse of men WAY easier then of women. I think this has alot to do of the image I have of my parents. For animal abuse, it depends on the species.

My thoughts exactly. I hate to see any animals hurt, but when horses or cats (my babies) are mistreated I get physically ill and so angry I get a headache.

Upbringing has a lot to do with it. And with out ever expanding your mind into better thinking patterns most humans repeat what they have learned. Sad but true... They would be lynched 100 years ago it kinda worked good then. Mess with kids=dead. Any society that does'nt value children and life is a problem.

His basement, His rules.

Indeed.

But back to topic, this is exactly the shit that makes me fascinated with psychology in the second place. I want to know why I work the way I do, and in a close second why the rest of the world is so fucked up. Looking at people with mental illness is neat, but looking at how sick the "Normal" people of society are is where the fun really is.

tl;dr

I could go on, but the tubes are so choked with the shit flowing from humanity that the list would go on forever. I find this fascinating and revolting at the same time, but it's the process that excites my interest. What has to happen for a "normal" and sane person to slip off and go rape some guy with a plumbing snake? What goes through a person's head when they don't help a old man after he's hit by a car? How about the guy who hit him and kept driving?

Moral of the story: People suck and no law, faith, or philosophy can fix that. Let's just pray the LHC does wipe us out, that way we can at least go out trying to get some answers rather then just blowing ourselves up over some damn fool thing.

There has been a terrible case here recently where a 3 yr old girl was put in a tumble dryer and beaten repeatedly for "fun" by a very sick and sad family.

*Sigh*

I just read an article on the case, and I'm stunned. The cruelty people inflict on others rarely surprises me anymore - but I *am* stunned each time something new and more horrific makes it into the headlines.

It physically hurts to hear about such things. :(

I keep asking why.
