US blocks UN call for probe into Gaza violence: reports

"The U.S. on Tuesday blocked the adoption of a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for a probe into the violence that broke out on the Gaza border Monday.

The statement expressed “outrage and sorrow" over the violence on Monday that left more than 50 dead and called for an "independent and transparent investigation" into the deaths, according to Israeli newspaper Haaretz.”

This US block to a UN-led investigation into the violence in Gaza shocked me deeply, and gave me a feeling of profound hopelessness.

The callousness of international politics can sometimes send a chill down my spine, literally.

LAST WORD:

Do you have someone to watch your pets for you after the Rapture?
I have very reasonable rates - http://aftertherapturepetcare.com

“Steam from my nose and red eyes” wow, cool!
No, I haven’t been smoking weed lately.

I see we are quickly back to personal insults when you can’t factually or logically debate the topic.
(Don’t start threads if you are going to get butthurt by the responses)

Please
...put me on ignore.
There is a plank in your eye....just fyi.

Let me know!

I have serious hopes that our current “leaders” and the apathy, greed, and selfishness that is synonymous with their generation are going to lose power soon and permanently.
The more this kind of disgusting crap continues to go on...the more people take notice and wake up.
I just wish so many didn’t have to suffer to open the eyes of others.

Please read "Constantine's Sword".

I'm going on vacation.

Many years ago, we used to be able to request a thread remain friendly. Maybe it was called PAX.
It enabled those of us with different opinions to share them without being pooped on.

A little bluebird told me that. I have always loved birds. Raised a few ducks long ago. Something kept happening to the young??

I was out back at the pond watching a mother hen swimming with her ducklings one day when the drake attacked and drown one of the ducklings. I ran for my .22 rifle. He was killing the last of them when I returned, standing on it and pushing its little head underwater. I shot the back of the neck with a graze of 40 grain and watched it swimming around with its head underwater til it drowned. I do remember saying things like "How does it feel" and such. Placed him in an ant bed.

Bluebirds both feed and raise their young. Sometimes a mallard wants to just mate, so he kills the young. Some bears and lions do that.. I found the mallard drake was a whoremonger. He would force himself on any duck of most any breed. Every now and then a mixed breed duck would appear. Collectors would have them mounted as they were so rare. I kept the mallard drakes away from the other ducks, and never bought another to breed. Mind you, they all aren't like that. Most birds aren't like that.

In nature, mating birds display and try to win a girl with the best display or most persistence. Some are quite the show to watch. I could watch them for hours. Had a young lady ask me why the hens were so drab and the males so beautiful many years back. Told her it seemed backwards to me, as she was a beautiful young lady. Some birds' sexes look the same, but many hens are brownish to help hide the eggs and the young while Dad is hunting.

Birds become territorial when it is time. Called a couple of owls over years ago from different areas of the swamp and they mated. Crows took the young to feed their young one evening as they were hatching. I killed all the crows' babies.

Nature can be great and wonderful, but it can also be devastating. Mankind has made many mistakes along it's way, and quite a few achievements. I have no problem when two races wish to intermarry, but that is not what the WHOLE world was meant to be like. They must love each other, but Jesus taught that and was killed. Like it or not, it is not up to the world to try and make everyone alike. People have cultures and religions that cannot be forgotten, no matter how hard they try. If love is not in the mix, it will not work out. We are amusing ourselves.

I love birds.

I really love love birds. Do you dislike love? No, you can't dislike love. It's part of your biology. I love love, and I love love birds. Deal with it.

It's interesting that Jerusalem means "the city of shalim" (or shalem) - it's named after a Canaanite deity:

Shalim was the god of dusk, twin brother of Shahar, the god of dawn, both attributed to the planet Venus, the morning and evening star (seems they hadn’t yet discovered that these were the same celestial body). Since Shalim represented the completion of the day, his name become synonymous with completion, wholeness, rest, and of course peace. This also associated him with death and the netherworld, giving us a glimpse into the attitude the Canaanites had regarding death: a peaceful completion of life. Tragically the entire Canaanite religion was all but lost to history, only partially preserved in the clay tablets found at Ugarit, but its gods are preserved in the Semitic languages still used today. Shalim’s legacy, however, lives on in another still relevant context today.

Jerusalem, the ancient holy city of three of the world’s most followed religions, and the center of global controversy, is widely believed to have been originally established as a city for Shalim. The name of the city, when analyzed from a Semitic standpoint, is literally translated as ‘the settlement of Shalim.’ It is known through Egyptian records, and even in Genesis, that Canaanites inhabited the city before it was conquered by the Israelites, so this is almost undoubtedly the case. Unfortunately for Shalim, his city has not known his peace for quite some time, but followers of the Abrahamic religions might do well to realize that their holy city was established as the foundation of peace for their ancestors.

So if you are a lover of peace, consider saying a prayer to Shalim. Tell him that, though he may be forgotten, his legacy lives on through his name, and ask that he return to his earthly temple, so that it may know his peace once more.

Why put it on an ant pile?
Wow dude.
I agree with trying to stop the bird but to be spiteful toward it doesn’t make sense to me personally.
I understand if it’s to feed the ants, circle of life, blah blah blah...just not what it sounded like.

Why shouldn’t the whole world intermix and marry?
What is wrong with that?
Why would anyones’ culture, heritage, or religion be ruined by that?
Imho it would make the world a better place if we could get over all the “differences” that separate us from one another and focus more on what makes us all human.
We can learn to celebrate all cultures, societies, and religions and learn to respect those differences.
No one is trying to destroy anyones’ culture or religion in Jerusalem except maybe the disenfranchisement of the Palestinians.
BTW, Israel has been waring its way into Syria against them and Iran, but it’s being kept off the nightly news.
Meanwhile, our brilliant leaders are implementing “Plan B” in Iran after trashing the deal and are trying to bully the rest of the UN to follow as they openly push for regime change (aka war with Iran), because regime change worked out so well for us the first time in the country...lol.
I thought Trump promised Murica first...that we weren’t going to get into all this mess in the middle east...then all of the sudden we are the main contributors of chaos...what are we doing?
Going to war with Iran, Syria, and N. Korea?
Great WW3...super.
Sure hope someone gets nuked.
This will not end well...and there is no reason for any of it in Jerusalem...there was no reason to move the embassy and allow the Zionists to falsely claim the territory as theirs.
*sigh*
