Last time I took a left-brain/right-brain test I got 50/50 and have always been around half and half (hooray!!).

This is a trip.
In a series of 8 experiments involving a number between 159 and 527 adults, researchers examined the psyche and relationships between belief in God or Spirit, compared to an analytical mindset and moral concern.

What they found… was quite interesting.
What they found, in the simplest sense, was akin to the difference between the extreme right brain, and extreme left brain.

On the Atheist side of the equation, we see extreme examples of intelligence, but we also see signs of psychopathic tendencies, meaning a lack of compassion and fundamental care for other human beings.

Yet on the Religious side of the equation, we see a much higher sense of compassion and care for other individuals, however, they lack a fundamental sense of intelligence.

It is in this comparison that we believe that a complete balance between the two will be the most harmonious path.
It is there in the middle, between both hemispheres is where true understanding exists.

You see, when we put all of our focus into religious or spiritual practices, we are putting more focus into the right brain, and our intimate connection with All.
By doing so, our analytical, left brain thinking goes away.

When we put all of our focus into logic, we are putting focus into the left brain.
By its very nature, it is more “disconnected” from the All, meaning is it less concerned with it.

It is not looking at the big picture, it focuses on the details that make it up. It is a fundamental part of existence, but it is more concerned with the structural pathways that things connect by.

By doing so, it doesn’t consider the whole of the equation, it likes to takes things in piece by piece.

So it does seem like by the nature of this study, that the natural path truly is the way of the Middle.

The Spiritual, and the Science.
I read a quote recently by one of my favorite authors that described this very well.

So much so, that theres a picture about it.

If we can have the temperance to focus on our left brain mind, with the understanding of the right brain, we can be spiritually present to other peoples needs while also maintaining that logical, scientific understanding of the cosmos.

In this, there is great power.

This connection can be achieved by practicing a focusing meditation, of bringing the two hemispheres of your brain together.
By laying down, relaxing your body, and focusing on the central point between the two hemispheres of your brain, and the yin and yang of your mind, you can begin to merge your two points of understanding.

It can bring you deep understanding of the nature of reality, and really let you unravel the web of consciousness we’ve weaved.

Sums up why I'm such a confusing mess, even to myself

How so?
You know, they just scientifically proved that you can actually change you emotional base level…so it turns out the Buddhists are so far correct.
Hehe
What is your dominate hemisphere?
I wonder how one would go about finding that center place if one were far to one side or the other…it is just so easy as doing more activities that utilize that side of the brain?
Or is it more a change in the way you think about things in general, a change of perspective that needs to be more active?

Just pointing out the fact that it's difficult being 50/50 which is around where I am at, though I do very slightly lean right brain. I could have easily been more left leaning but I never pursued math beyond what was required of me and I've never found it particularly enthralling until it gets into more theoretical stuff. My friend who was working on his PhD in computer engineering before he passed away used to talk a lot of math theory with me and we would plot out space-time curvature and try to work our way through general relativity while contemplating dimensional theories.

And as excited as all that stuff gets me, I've never felt a sense of ultimate truth from it. I get more of that from meditation and interacting with other humans and animals than I ever have while diving into calculations. For some, the calculations themselves are their god, essentially. Which I get on one level, but I just feel within myself that the calculations do not lead to an ultimate truth. A truth of some sort, but not an ultimate truth.

/end ramble

There is something to there being undue difficulties integrating both sides…to balance I suppose?
I fully understand what you mean by your story…I am basically the same way and have similar stories.
I think there is a fine line to be walked for sure.

Gonna have that surgery on my jaw next tues. (fun times).
So I may or may not be around much the rest of that week (just a heads up)
Maybe I’ll try that vacation option thingy.
Hope everyone is well!

What surgery?
Go on a retreat!

I've got to go to a meeting I volunteered to continue when I was working. I don't know what I was thinking...but I'm not feeling it today.
Whew....

Whew....

The arthritis I have is moving into my jaw and causing bony spurs/tumors (non cancerous type) to cut off blood supply to some or my rear molars and may lose them if I don’t do anything.
Surgeon says my face will look like a chipmunk for a few days due to swelling.
That’s about the gist of it.
I will be retreating to my cozy chair with a blanket and a popsicle.
If I do lose some back teeth then they are going to put in an implant to hold a bridge (which I guess they can make right there now)…fun fun fun!

It is like yoga and does wonders for your body.

Truth!
I sure hope she has a voice when people really start waking up and looking for answers.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the coming years now that the veil is so thin every body is starting to see things they've never seen before. UFO/ET sightings are at an all time high. I have a friend who is being visited nightly by "buzzing small spheres" who are doing upgrades on her body. Others are starting to report strange phenomena and vivid dreams.
Hah! Schizophrenia will pale in comparison...

NDE's
OBE's
Past life Regressions
Channeled messages from Galactic Beings.
Jumping Timelines [apparently this is what I've been doing when I merge with another during their current life]
Secret Space Programs
Crop Circles
Ancient Civilization Facts are emerging.

All of these are real every day occurrences now for millions of people all over the globe. Thank the creator for the internet as it has certainly facilitated the Shift happening. People are being encouraged to come out with their truths.

If I ever start to doubt that people are interested in everything you just listed…I only have to look at the view meter for this thread…it’s at like 150,000 almost…with just a little over 3500 actual posts here.
So someone is reading it…someone is interested…people are looking for bits of the truth.
And I feel that more people are starting to realize that it needs to be their personal journey, not the journey this church or religion tells you to take or follow, but a real journey into personal spirituality.
Because I feel the world ache with a desire for spirituality, for the interconnectedness it entails.
I feel that the religious extremism we see in the world today is a direct result of the “solid” bases of their religions crumbling as people wake up.
More and more I realize that I myself am very sensitive to whatever collective consciousness there is…at least that is my conclusion I have drawn…what I feel to be true.

Yes! You are right. People are starting to realize it's THEIR own journey...not what others tell them it should be.

The Catholics here in the US are starting to take notice of the Pope as he goes about espousing compassion and care for others and making profound changes within the church doctrine. I wonder if it will spur them on to stop and think about what it is they actually believe...and then choose to take their own journey.

I'm glad you're noticing the increase in your sensitivities to the collective consciousness. It help keep you sane as the chaos increases all around us in the short term.

I am really excited to see the Pope address Congress!
It is either today or tomorrow….I hope he let’s them have it….I hope he shames them publicly.
Pleasepleasepleaseplease!

The Catholic Church is still Medieval and rotten in its core.

It looks like the film The Exorcist.

Is this what is happening in contemporary Poland???

Hope it all goes really well man. I'll be sure to reach out to any deities out there, and threaten them with annihilation if it doesn't go well.

If you're thinking of vacation, Ireland is particularly rainy and miserable this time of year. We do have some great pubs though.

I totally agree Jacobi should come visit you. Oregon is the Micro Brewing mecca of the US with tons and tons of fantastic beer. Dormant volcanoes. Hot springs. Tall beautiful forests right along the coast line of the very powerful Pacific Ocean. Columbia River Gorge. Warm and friendly people.
....and Skarekrow....[and Sensiko]
What more could you ask for?

...sounds like a great vacation trip to me. :)

It does sound awesome, I admit. But the flight alone would cost, at the very least, three - four thousand euros, it would require taking time off work (which is really busy at the moment), and I've got quite a few engagements over the coming months so it'd be difficult to work out the timing.

I would love to do it sometime though. Smoking weed on the porch with skarekrow, teaching his son proper disposal of bodies, and the eventual threesome with sensiko. It'd be a vacation to remember.
