4D Consciousness
...Is Now Our Playground and The Realm of Ideas and Imagination

conscious_universe122_01.jpg

The fourth dimension is now our arena.
When asked to give a simple definition of this dimension, Edgar Cayce answered with a single word: "idea."

Quite independently, the psychiatrist Carl Jung provided exactly the same, single word definition.
The fourth dimension is the realm of ideas, the world of the imagination where we can make anything happen.

It's a big world, infinite; certainly big enough for one to get lost within it unless you know the secret of navigation.

Fourth dimensional consciousness is awareness of point, length, breadth, height, volume, and time.
The fourth dimension is also known as the Astral Plane, and the primary consciousness of this dimension is the Astral Body, which is also known as the "higher human."

Because of the octave leap in vibration from third to fourth dimension the Astral Body is of a higher vibration known as etheric and fourth dimensional perception of past, present, and future is more fluid, as the laws of time and space change.

On the fourth dimension, we can reintegrate our group identity without the loss of our personal ego, as it is the last vibration where physical vehicles are used to contain individual consciousness.

However, because of the fluid nature of time and space our astral forms naturally morph.
Hence, there is a huge mobility of form.

It is the realm of the "shape shifters" of which mythology speaks.

A shaman or holy person who can shape shift has learned to ground their astral form upon the third dimension so completely that they can temporarily change their third dimensional form.

Drunvalo Melchizedek, author of several books on consciousness, stated that the fourth dimension is,

"a thousand times more interesting than here [3rd dimension].

Every breath is like an eternity; it's so special.
We have lost our connection to God here and we don't remember what it's like to have God in and around us, moving through us, and to be intimately connected with God, so that, whatever you're thinking and whatever you're feeling is directly created.

You could go into the fourth dimension and actually recreate the third dimension... you quickly realize that whatever you're thinking starts happening, and the whole idea that we are separate becomes meaningless very quickly."

This amusing paradox shows the problem of discussing the fourth dimension with terms derived from the three dimensional world.

Even to say "movement" in the fourth dimension borrows from the 3-D world of time and space.
Perhaps it would be better to say "changes" instead of movement, when discussing the fourth dimension, for we can "travel" in the fourth dimension without moving at all.

We don't actually travel, but rather we change our intentions and thus the pattern of our experience.

Contemplating the fourth dimension is a very useful exercise.

The fourth dimension offers a novel and intriguing addition to our worldview that is becoming particularly important today.
It provides the necessary stage upon which we can experience the reality of the soul.

At a time when more and more people are wanting to have a relationship with soul, it is important to reckon with its fourth dimensional nature.

Much of our third dimensional life also exists upon the fourth dimension in a format of a higher vibration, but we are not aware of it because that reality is NOT in sync with our physical time and space.

We can have a dream of an entire lifetime and wake up to find that only five minutes of our physical time has passed.

Our astral reality, as well as our other physical incarnations, is not perceivable to our third dimensional self unless we have remembered our Multidimensional Consciousness.

The fourth dimension is the realm which holds the awareness of our body's first and second dimensional components, as well as all our past experiences of this life and all other third dimensional lives.

We can expand our third dimensional consciousness into the fourth dimension through gaining an awareness of the inner-workings of our physical body, remembering our dreams, and having intense experiences of passion, emotion, creativity, and/or spirituality.

The Astral Plane is the realm of dream life.

When we are "asleep", we are unconscious in the third dimension, but we are conscious in the fourth dimension.
Our fourth dimensional Astral Body possesses advanced dreaming, imagination, psychic ability, intuition, magic, and creativity.

As we expand our mind to frequency of the fourth dimension, we can experience more and more of these qualities while in our physical form.

Author of Spiritual Unfoldment - A Guide to Liberating Your Soul, Richard Barrett stated that,

"we have blocked out this perspective with three dimensional conditioning." when asked why we are not more aware of the fourth dimensional realities.

Physical awareness is three-dimensional, soul awareness is of the fourth dimension.

Three-dimensional awareness has the basic qualities, Barrett explains, of time, space and matter.
These qualities creates the experiences of separation, death and mass.

Fourth dimensional awareness, on the other hand, has the basic qualities of timelessness, spacelessness and energy.
These qualities create the experiences of unity, being and flow.

In the fourth dimension, there is consciousness of eternity, where past and future simultaneously co-exist.

There is consciousness of omnipresence, in which everywhere is located right here.

In other words, the here and now is "Home Central" of the fourth dimension.
There is a sense in the here and now of a permanent sense of being.

That being is not of things, but of energy.

As Barrett puts it,

"In the fourth dimension of consciousness there is only an eternal moment that we call now and everything exists in energy forms."

Some people are born with an innate connection to their fourth dimensional self and must "work" to ground their consciousness in a third dimensional world that often feels foreign and hostile.

Others are born without this awakened connection, and they usually feel more comfortable and "at home" within the third dimensional paradigm.

These people often feel cut off from the higher dimensional portions of themselves and may not even believe that "higher selves" even exist.

However, our astral body does exist and its highest vibration is our Spiritual Guidance.
Much like a person upon a mountaintop can observe and guide the residents of the valley below, our higher astral self can observe us upon the third dimension and give us guidance.

Through the expanded perception of our fourth dimensional self we can create great changes in our physical world.

However, the fourth dimension still has the polarization of light and dark, and this realm is not necessarily more loving, especially upon the lower sub-planes.

Upon the fourth dimension, thought and feelings create reality much more quickly than upon the third dimension, and fear can create evil as easily as love can create beauty and joy.

The emotion of fear and a fixation on external circumstance are symptoms of attachment to the 3-D world.
  • Love is an expression of the fourth, a shared awareness with all energy forms of our essential unity.

  • Intention is the secret of navigating in this realm.
One of the most important is for us to look for the our soul's intention behind every experience, to see what we are trying to learn.
In the final analysis, the most important lesson is that our ideals become our destiny.

What is yours?

The ‘Field of Elixir’ Is More Important to Spirituality Than the Pineal Gland

Waking Times

It is commonly held that the pineal gland is the ‘seat of the soul,’ a meta-physical portal of sorts that is believed to play an important role in conscious awareness and spiritual experience. Certain practices and supplements may assist in improving the function of the pineal gland, however, by training the more fundamental energy centers of the body, the Dan Tien, one can more quickly achieve heightened spiritual awareness, and over time a much more powerful and deeper sense of intuition and connectedness than by concentrating on the pineal gland alone.

This is the secret that the great masters of Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Qi Gong have known for centuries. This is the key to elevated consciousness, to super-human strength, to unbending will-power and extreme longevity.

At its core, all matter is made up of energy in motion, the human body being no different. We are energetic beings, sensitive to the currents around us, with the capacity to expend energy and to draw energy from nature, from other beings, and from food and air.

People can give off positive, confident ‘vibes,’ and at other times radiate negative energy, both of which can be contagious, affecting the mood and energy level of others. Some people just seem more magnetic, alive, aware and more radiant than others do, for example, Bruce Lee. Practices of cultivating Dan Tien can develop one’s ability to gather, build, store, and more effectively use personal energy, or Qi, transforming themselves into the kind of person with abundant and infectious positive Qi. The elixir of life.

Dan Tien
– Literally, “Field of Elixir.” Locations in the body which are able to store and generate Qi (elixir) in the body. The Upper, Middle and Lower Dan Tien are located, respectively, between the eyebrows, at the solar plexus, and a few inches below the navel. [Dr. Yang, The Root of Chinese Qigong: Secrets of Health, Longevity, & Enlightenment]

Lower Dan Tien is the base foundation of the body’s energy structure, acting as the root, or grounding center, as well as being the physical center of the human body. When attention is focused here, it is easy to recognize a concentration of energy. Practices for building and refining the energy of Lower Dan Tien may include physical exercises, guided meditations, breathing exercises, and visualizations, as well as more extreme practices.

When the energy in Lower Dan Tien is strong, the person is vibrant, in good health, full with energy and stamina, and physically robust. If the person is deficient here, then they will be weak, feeble, and of ill-constitution. A simple analogy is that of a battery, or re-chargeable energy source for your body:

“A dantian is simply an energy center. Think of the battery you have in your cell phone. Most of us charge our phones overnight so when we wake the next morning, we have a phone that can get us through our busy day. The dantians, much like that battery, have the potential for robust power that can be utilized for a variety of activities. Conversely, by the end of the day, you are scrambling around for your charger because you have only 2% on your phone and, God forbid, you miss the next important Facebook post. The same is true for the energy centers in the body.” [Breaking Muscle]

This center of the body is considered by both energy healers and scientists alike to be the center of a ‘second’ human brain, or ‘brain in the gut.’ It is a concentration of components of the nervous system that resembles the brain, and technically known as the enteric nervous system, but more closely linked to emotional intelligence, rather than thought processing.

“A deeper understanding of this mass of neural tissue, filled with important neurotransmitters, is revealing that it does much more than merely handle digestion or inflict the occasional nervous pang. The little brain in our innards, in connection with the big one in our skulls, partly determines our mental state and plays key roles in certain diseases throughout the body.” [Scientific American]

The phenomenal thing about training Dan Tien is that truly anyone can do it, and anyone can achieve quick results even without access to a school or formal program. Many of the most profound practices are also the most gentle, and a number of Chi masters have revealed their secrets in books, videos, and instructional seminars, so that nowadays, formerly esoteric knowledge of the body, mind and spirit is available to all who seek it. There are many excellent free training videos available online, and with these resources you are equipped to take control of your own health and spiritual development.

A small amount of dedication and self-discipline can quickly lead to big gains in wellness and spiritual awareness with this type of training. When seeking a better understanding of life and our purpose in it, if we first concentrate on developing the foundation of the energetic body, rather than on more esoteric concepts like the pineal gland, then big changes in psyche and spiritual aptitude come quickly and with increasing ease, and are more likely to persist and become a part of ordinary awareness.

Training Dan Tien, starting with Lower Dan Tien, is the most effective means of refining your will power, concentration, and spiritual connection. For a simple place to start, take a look at the following resources. The first video is a very beneficial exercise which involves beating and drumming Qi, as you’ll see:

The next short training video emphasizes a relaxing and energizing swaying movement which is terrific as a starting point to developing sensitivity to the energy flow and inherent power in the area of Lower Dan Tien. Here are some guidelines to consider:

“As with any Qigong work, focused intention is the great difference maker when we are talking about effectiveness. My suggested repetition range would be between fifty to 200 cycles. The good news is fifty repetitions of the swaying Qigong exercise can take less than ninety seconds. And 200 repetitions takes perhaps a little more than five minutes. These exercises can be overdone, though, so please stay within the confines of the recommendations presented in the videos.” [Breaking Muscle]

Similar to Chakras and the many other energy meridians that other cultures acknowledge exist.
Those few times where I was out of body and was “pushing” negative entities out of my house, I always feel intense vibrations from my very core that radiate outward...not from my head.
The only time I could feel I was using my head or third eye was when I am having an OOBE or lucid dream and I move something mentally.
I had a very vivid lucid dream where I was shown how to do this by a huge black dude, lol.
Same thing with my meditations, which begin with ASMR vibrations, then move into something completely different and more intense, this is when I begin to hear bizarre noises, voices, music, etc. I believe it’s the moment when we are able to hear “everything” within the collective consciousness, which is distracting and can be frightening to some people, especially since it’s also when your physical body is paralyzed...this is when I have been successful in inducing on OOBE.
Otherwise, it seems to only happen spontaneously when I end up defending my house from something negative or evil...it just immediately stops my dream...as if I woke up, but I know I’m OOB...as if some alarm went off in my head.
For those not familiar with ASMR...there are a bunch of retarded videos on youtube of women eating food, or brushing their hair and shit or whispering...this is not actual ASMR. It’s fodder for some perv to jack it to.

Wikipedia ASMR - Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is a euphoric experience characterized by a static-like or tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine, precipitating relaxation.

It has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia.[1][2]
Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) signifies the subjective experience of 'low-grade euphoria' characterized by 'a combination of positive feelings, relaxation, and a distinct static-like tingling sensation on the skin’.

It typically begins 'on the scalp' before moving 'down the spine' to the base of the neck, sometimes spreading 'to the back, arms and legs as intensity increases', most commonly triggered by specific acoustic, visual and digital media stimuli, and less commonly by intentional attentional control.[3][4]

What this wikipedia article is failing to understand is that they are characterizing the vibrational stage before mind-body separation in an out of body experience.
People are failing to use it for the full potential it can reach because they don’t understand what is happening...it can be induced by “intentional attentional control”, because I do it almost all the time now.
It’s a materialist cop-out trying to explain sensations that have more to do with your chakras and energy points than just something triggered in the brain and self-created euphoric sensation.
It is euphoric, and can be almost orgasmic in some ways, but there is a door beyond this “sensation” that can be explored.

I have always been deficient of energy. Once something starts happening, I cannot muster the energy for thinking through and taking action. Out of curiosity, I did some breathing exercises to exercise the lower dantian. Lo and behold, there was a surge of energy that started in the middle of my belly. It is still there, I feel it. Meditation and breathing exercises have been helpful in balancing my chakras. But I could feel that something was missing. The emotion had always been there, until yesterday.

I will get started with the middle dantian next. After writing a million posts next week, I will go to a brainshrinker and get some pills for treating OCD. :m106:

Took my latest pendulum board and wands down to the “Metaphysical” store...to buy the stones and crystals to form the grid underneath and stock up on some much needed incense.
I brought them along just to see what the store owner thought as far as consigning pieces.
When I took the board out she just about lost her footing...I probably should have warned her.
And she couldn’t even touch the bigger of the two wands...she felt it would be too much for her and she would have to go home early.
She did hold the smaller wand and gave me wonderful compliments on my workmanship which made my day.
They had a rack of some bullshit wands that some bubbly headed twerp made (that’s what I got from them)...they were sticks with sparkly clay (the kind that hardens) wrapped around them with crystals on the ends...but as far as actual energy, like I said...bullshit.
The lady said she could tell a lot of energy was put into my items, and that I should definitely charge double what I am currently asking (not about the money for me...I want people to enjoy and use what I create), she really liked the board and I will take it back when I am done with the crystal grid (that’s what I was waiting for to complete it)...just wanted to share how fucking cool that was.
I’m totally going to consign my art/magical artifacts!
Wow.

Cultivating Consciousness in an Unconscious World

consciousness-time-slices.jpg

Politicians constantly evade the truth.

Why can they get away with it?

According to a recent study conducted at Harvard University,

it's because people have such terrible attention spans.

Behavioral scientist Todd Rogers of the Harvard Kennedy School and Michael I. Norton of the Harvard Business School conducted a simple experiment to see when and whether people can detect a dodge.

They recorded a speaker answering a question about universal health care (a controversial issue in the US).
Then they attached the same answer to three separate questions:
  • the original question about health care
  • one on illegal drug use
  • a third about terrorism
Amazingly, subjects found the speaker just as trustworthy when he gave the response about health care to a question about illegal drug use - a related but different subject - as when he responded to the original question about health care.

Moreover, when quizzed immediately afterward, almost none of the subjects could remember exactly what question had been asked.
Part of the reason for these findings, Rogers believes, is simply that humans have poor attention spans.

Poor attention is,
"universal to all animals that we managed to study," says Rogers.

"Though we don't realize it, we go through our lives detecting just the gist of what's going on.
Even if we wanted to pay attention to each answer, we would have a limited capacity" to do so.

Another, related reason is that when people are listening to a speaker, they are taking in nonverbal signals such as body language, facial expressions, and likability.

In short, even when doing something as simple as listening to a speaker, the audience is overwhelmed by information, enabling politicians to dodge answers without appearing to.

These findings have more than a theoretical importance.
Faced with economic and social crisis, and haunted by the spectre of global conflict, famine, and environmental collapse, people are demanding change.

At the same time, however, there is a widespread suspicion of all political and economic ideologies.
World civilization at this point is like a sick man who shifts restlessly in bed, unable to find a comfortable position.

It may be that what is needed is not a change in ideologies, but a change in consciousness.

The problem goes deeper than merely detecting whether a politician has answered a question or not.
Many of the world's great spiritual traditions frequently tell us that we live in illusion.

The twentieth-century spiritual teacher G.I. Gurdjieff said,

"A modern man lives in sleep, in sleep he is born and in sleep he dies."

The contemporary Tibetan lama Tarthang Tulku writes,

"Because our powers of self-observation are usually not well developed, we are often blind to our suffering."

Could they be saying that it's our poor capacity for attention that is keeping us in cognitive bondage?

Proposed remedies for this chronic and widespread attention-deficit disorder vary to some degree.
For Gurdjieff, the answer lay (at least in part) in what he called self-remembering: an attention that is divided between the world outside and the world within.

How does this work in practice?
One Gurdjieffian teacher pointed out to me how, under ordinary circumstances, when you look out the window, your attention goes with it.

In a certain sense you go out the window as well.
Your sense of yourself is lost.

To counter this, he suggested that when you look out a window, you keep some attention for yourself, even if it's something as simple as a conscious awareness of a hand or a foot.

"When you look out the window, you don't go out the window," as he put it.

For Tarthang Tulku, the answer lies along a slightly different route.

He believes that our failure of attention has to do with a deep-seated fear of discomfort.
Our suffering goes on under the surface, and we refuse to touch it out of avoidance of the emotional pain that it would bring.

One alternative that he recommends is not only to touch the pain, but to explore it - to feel it as fully as possible.

"Whenever we are caught in a physical or mental conflict, we can focus on it, heat it up, go into the centre of it," he says.

Going directly into psychological pain in this way will often transform it into a new, dynamic, and more creative energy.

There are many other approaches, but the point is the same:

to sharpen and focus a capacity for attention does not forget what question was asked, that does not go out the window.

In this the seed of will is sown.

The British occultist Charles R. Tetworth writes about the training of a magician:

As an apprentice, he or she will have learned how to hold an image in his mind for an hour at a time.
He will have learned how to maintain direction in the midst of life's distractions.

He will have learned to keep contact with what is real within him, even in the throes of passion.
He will have learned something of the uneven tides that move the hearts of men.

He will be independent of the movements of fashionable views and capable of taking a long-term view of humankind's apparent tragedies.
This will make him a more conscious member of the human race.

While some of this passage may have little bearing on us - not many people will be able to hold an image in their minds for a solid hour - it provides some genuine, and important, guidelines for living in the midst of today's turmoils.

The key practice is - however you manage to do it - to cultivate a centre of attention in yourself.

You can do this right now, by closing your eyes and sitting attentively for a few minutes.
At first you let your attention go to your bodily sensations, however they present themselves: sensations of the feet on the floor, your back against the chair, and so on.

Then you let your attention go to the flow of thoughts, images, and emotions that pass before the mind's eye.
You will soon realize that you can watch these thoughts come into awareness like images on a screen, and pass away again just as readily.

The question then becomes, who exactly is doing the watching?
It is not the body; the body is part of what is being observed.

Nor is it the stream of thoughts that flow across the screen of the mind.
You will rapidly find that you can observe them as from a distance.

And if there is some distance, however slight, between you and thoughts, this immediately proves that the thoughts are not you.
This realization is one of the principal goals of meditation.

It will enable you, to use Tetworth's words,
"to keep contact with what is real" within you, even in the sorrows and disturbances of life.

It will also free you from enslavements to such things as opinions, the current fashions of belief, and, what is perhaps most important, the subtle but debilitating attachment to your self-concept as a "good person."

If you pursue the inquiry of self-observation far enough, you will find that these opinions and self-concepts are merely what you have absorbed from the media, from advertising, from your family, from your friends.

You will also discover that you have encompassed yourself in a circle.
You read opinions that already mirror your own.

You listen to "experts" who merely confirm what you believe already.
You support politicians who appeal to your own fears and delusions.

I do not pretend that the exercises I have sketched out in this article are a panacea.
Nor are they easy, and it will generally take a great deal of patience and effort to apply them in any but the most basic way.

And you will notice that in and of themselves they do not present any brilliant solutions to the world's multifold problems.

But if you apply them, you will be a more conscious being, and you will be more free of the delusions and anxieties that press so heavily on the human race.

What comes next?

A long work, in which you begin to become aware of your own special function - that is, the role that you can play to help the world most effectively.
It may or may not mean embracing a cause or political program.

Instead it may, for example, involve working quietly as a light shining in the dark corridors of an apparently soulless corporation.
It does not matter: that is your work.

As you move deeper into your reaches that some teachings call the Self or the "true I," the more this function will come into focus for you, and you will be able to become a powerful force for change rather than a weak, worried, and anxious consumer.

My personal favorite method.
I also employ the “wake up, back to bed” method.

STEP ONE
- Go to bed as normal and allow yourself to sleep for six hours.
Set your alarm clock or have another early riser wake you up.

STEP TWO - After six hours, get out of bed and fully wake yourself up.
Find something to occupy your brain to make you alert.
Read about lucid dreaming if you want to stay focused on the subject.
Stay alert for 20-60 minutes. (Hint: you must get out of bed!)

STEP THREE - Go back to bed and relax.
If your mind is too alert, practice meditation, listen to brainwave entrainment and/or perform Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams.
Use your visualization skills to place your mind back in the dreamscape and plan your next lucid dream as you fall asleep.

Can Binaural Beats Help You With Astral Projection & Lucid Dreaming?

Using-Binaural-Beats-to-aid-Astral-Projection.jpg

A lot of readers have contacted me to ask about Binaural Beats, and whether they help with Astral Projection.1
Everyone likes short-cuts – I guess we all sometimes want to find that shiny, magic button that will instantly achieve our goal for us.

The truth of the matter is that Binaural Beats can be extremely beneficial to the student of Astral Projection and Lucid Dreaming, just not as much as some people would have you believe.

Certainly, Binaural Beats (along with the alternative Monaural Beats and Isochronic Tones) can help you to reach a depth of meditation that is simply impossible for many people.

Traditionally, years of practice, discipline and dedication have been necessary to reach the deepest trace states.
But it’s now possible to meditate like a Zen Master even if you
don’t have hours of time to spare each day for your spiritual growth.

However, although these audio technologies will help you to reach the correct trance state, they won’t get you projecting all by themselves…

Here’s why:
There are several stages to mastering OBE’s:

  1. Physical Relaxation – without this, you’re unlikely to reach a suitable trance-state.
  2. Attaining a Deep Trance state – it is this stage where Binaural Beats can help
  3. Achieving Exit from the Body – this is where you a) learn the actual techniques that will allow you to Project, and b) learn to recognize the signs that you’re about to have an OBE
  4. Remembering, and learning from your experiences, successes and failures.
So, you see, Binaural Beats can only ever play one part in your success.
You’ll still have to do some of the heavy lifting!

That being said, learning to induce a deep trance is for many people one of the most difficult and unnatural parts of mastering Astral Projection.
And anything that can give you such a huge head-start has got to be worth a go, right?

What Are Binaural Beats?
One definition of binaural beats or binaural tones, is that they are auditory processing artifacts, or apparent sounds, caused by specific physical stimuli.

Physicist Heinrich Wilhelm Dove discovered, back in 1839, that when one tone of one frequency was played into one ear, while a tone with a different frequency was played into the other ear, a strange effect occurred.

To reconcile the two, conflicting, sounds, the mind of the subject “creates” a third tone, that is the exact difference between the the other two tones.
An example given at the
Immrama Institute is this:

For example, if a frequency of 100 Hz is presented to your left ear, and a frequency of 105 Hz is presented to your right ear, your brain “hears” a third frequency pulsing at 5 Hz, the exact difference between the two frequencies.

FAQs

How Do Binaural Beats Work?
If binaural tones were just a trick our minds play on us when presented with two conflicting sounds, that would be mildly interesting , but not much use to us.

However, what happens as a result of the newly-created tone is quite fascinating.
When the brain starts to “hear” the binaural beat, it also begins to resonate in tune with that beat.

This means that it is possible to create a beat that will cause the brain to resonate at a frequency of your choosing, and guide your mind into activity in any any state you like.

What Are the Benefits of Binaural Beats?
By the process of guiding the mind into a desired state, we are able to improve powers of concentration, improve relaxation…

…and, yes, help us to reach a state of deep trance perfect for Astral Projection!

Are Binaural Beats Safe?
They are very well-tested, and have been found to be very safe.

But there are some instances where you’d be advised to steer clear of them.

Obviously, since they will put you into a deeply-relaxed state, they aren’t suitable for use if you are driving, or operating any kind of dangerous machinery. (But I hope you guessed this already…)

If you suffer from epilepsy, then there is also a chance that binaural beats could trigger a seizure.

Also some of the brain entrainment programs using binaural beats can leave you feeling quite “strung-out” and emotionally-drained.
Holosync by Centerpointe is an example of this – it’s an excellent, and highly effective program (although by no means cheap), but is perhaps too intense for anyone with severe emotional problems.

At least that’s what I thought.

I’d also add that I am by no means an expert on the safety of binaural beats, and have conducted no studies of my own.
So, as with anything, you would be well-advised to do your own research first, if you have any concerns or misgivings.

What Types of Binaural Beats Are There, and What Do They Do?

Alpha – Alpha brain waves are when we are in a state of physical and mental relaxation, but still aware of what is happening.
They are helpful for creativity, and also for physical performance.

Beta – Beta brain waves are associated with when we are consciously alert – active concentration, active thinking, and also anxiety and paranoia.

Delta – the slowest brain waves that we produce, associated with deep, dreamless sleep and lack of consciousness.

Gamma – the fastest brain wave, associated with peak concentration and consciousness.
There are studies that suggest that applying frequencies in the gamma wave band to sleeping people can trigger lucidity.

Mu – These are related to learned motor-actions.
There’s some interesting research happening here

Theta – This is the area we’re primarily interested in.
Theta waves can aid deep meditation, dreaming, the subconscious mind, and creativity.

How to Listen to Binaural Beats

To listen to binaural beats, you’ll need to use head-phones, to properly separate the two frequencies.
If both ears hear both sounds, the brain does not feel the need to create the missing tone.

Some people find that it’s impossible to relax fully wearing headphones.
In which case Isochronic Tones and Monaural Beats will probably be a much better idea for you, as they work with or without headphones.

A lot of people find the sound of a pure binaural tone quite unpleasant, so commercially available mp3s will usually have some natural sounds added to the track, like rain, river sounds, bird-song or other relaxing, ambient sounds.

The volume of the beats doesn’t really make much difference, so they can be mixed quite low, so all you’re really conscious of is the ambient sounds that are in the foreground.

YouTube has lots of free binaural beats – unfortunately the sound quality is not always very good; but it’s not a bad place to start.

Conclusion

Binaural beats can definitely play a role in helping you to learn to induce an out-of-body experience.
It’s certainly not the only way – I didn’t have access to this kind of technology when I started learning, and nor did most other practitioners.

But it can clearly speed the process up, and help you to reach the correct trance-state much, much faster.
And I believe that with the ever-increasing distractions that modern life brings, most people will find some short-cuts might be helpful.

Don’t let this become the only way of meditating, however.
Meditation is supposed to be a life-skill, and not reliant on technology.

(Skarekrow - Here is one I use frequently
It’s at 4.5 hz, which I have found personally effective, but 4 hz works for me too...some people like 6.5 hz for induction into and OOBE. Just find one that works best for you.)

What Are the Symptoms of an Out-of-Body Experience? (What to Expect…)

A lot of people get to the point of exiting their body, and then, when the unfamiliar sensations kick-in, they panic, lose their trance-state, and fail to project.
That’s why knowing what symptoms to expect is
really important.

I’ll not beat around the bush – your first OBE can be quite a frightening experience – especially if you’re not prepared, and don’t know what to expect.

A feeling that you are going to die is not uncommon for first-time projectors!
(Skarekrow - Absolutely!)
Obviously, this can be quite distracting, and prevent your first successful projection, or even put you off the idea forever.

Different people have different symptoms, but everyone will have at least a couple of the signs in common.

Here are the seven most common signs that you are about to have an out-of-body experience:

1. Sleep Paralysis
A lot of people actually suffer from sleep paralysis, without any intentions of Astral Projection.
It is extremely disturbing if you let it affect you in a negative way, but in terms of Astral Projection it’s actually a really positive sign.

(Skarekrow - This can be frightening...it is best to understand what is happening and not freak out, on more than one occasion I have mentally forced my physical body to kick out my leg to break the paralysis...this however also breaks your trance)

I’ll be explaining this phenomenon of sleep paralysis later, but for the meanwhile, just understand that it’s a state where your mind is conscious, but your body is asleep.

Since you’re actively trying to have an OBE, this shouldn’t worry you too much, but imagine what it’s like to experience this without all the preparation!

2. An Increased Heart Rate
At least, this is what it feels like.

It is difficult to ignore!
But ignore it you must.

This sign appears very close to the exit stage, and can distract you from your goal by shocking you out of your trance.
Some people feel as though they are about to have a heart-attack, their heart seems to be beating so fast.

Actually, though, the sensation is not from your heart, but your Heart Center.
You can test this using a heart monitor – and you may find that, if anything, your actual heart-beat has slowed-down!

The increased activity is in fact from your heart center working hard to generate the energy needed for an OBE.

3. Heat Sensations
Typically in the chest, and around the Navel Center.
The navel center sensations are usually a warm comfortable feeling, but the heat sensations around the chest can be more extreme.

Sometimes, the heat can feel so intense that it’s as though you are burning-up, in a fever.

4. Vibrations/Tingling
These are probably the most documented of all of the out-of-body experience symptoms.
Not everyone gets these, but they are common, and I certainly experience them.

To me, tingling doesn’t seem a strong-enough word to describe the sensation, but a lot of people use this word when describing the point before exit.

From my personal experience, the vibrations are vigorous, and sometimes almost violent.
It may feel as if your whole body is shaking like crazy.

It feels like a genuine, physical sensation.
However, if you stand-over someone who is projecting, you won’t see
any sign of the vibrations they are experiencing.

(
Skarekrow - I have had light sensations, pleasant sensations, and also extremely violent almost painful type sensations, combined with being paralyzed, and the sounds you hear, it’s quite easy to lose concentration and not move on to the next step of separation.)

5. A Loud Humming/Buzzing Sound
This almost always accompanies the vibrations.
It can be very loud indeed! Sometimes you may hear voices as well – I suspect that these voices are “invented” by your mind in the midst of all the other noise that’s going on.

(Note from Skarekrow - I suspect these voices are NOT “invented” by your mind, but rather the filter of your physical mind has been removed.
Their own suggestion is a materialist cop-out.

I used to hear an electrical buzzing each time I went OOB as a child and learned to associate that noise with the night terrors that I suffered from...it took some time as an adult to become comfortable with that sound again. Dont give up!)

6. Feeling of Pressure to the Head
This can vary from throbbing, to a mild discomfort, to actual pain.
It’s associated with the increased activity in the Brow Center and Crown Center.

It can feel like a band being tightened around your head.
It’s nothing serious, and the pain should go away quickly.

(See - Exploding Head Syndrome - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exploding_head_syndrome)

7. Sinking or Floating or Suddenly Dropping
A feeling of sinking into your bed is not uncommon, and you won’t be surprised to hear that floating sensations are also a common symptom.

Sometimes the feeling can be more intense – almost as if you’re on a roller-coaster with those moments where your body is dropping down so fast that it feels as though your stomach has been left behind.

What Next?
Memorize these signs that you’re about to have an OBE!
Especially the ones that are more scary or disturbing.

Know that the more unfamiliar sensations are not something to panic about, but instead are a sign that you’re really close to success!

Ugh.

As if on cue...it’s like a blizzard now!
That means I don’t have to drive my Son to school in the morning...hooray!!
Snow days are sweet.

It snowed all night...I think there is at least a foot on the ground...so beautiful...I’ll take a couple pictures for you all after the sun comes up and I’m done meditating.
It’s supposed to keep it up till mid afternoon...so maybe no school tomorrow either...nice.

I just want to thank my consistent readers of this thread, I think I may have the forum record for most posts and views on a thread?
@Dragon is that so?

That would be amazing.
Please let me know of the topics that interest you all and I will make sure and find some good articles for you!
Thanks in advance!

Are you interested in Ley lines?

Just found this very brief description;
Ley lines /leɪ laɪnz/ are apparent alignments of places of significance in the geography or culture of an area, often including man-made structures. They are in the older sense, ancient, straight track ways in the British landscape, or in the newer sense, spiritual and mystical alignments of land forms.

I just wondered about how they come about? As significant locations of sites of spiritual interest and activity, do they become endowed with energy as a result of all the happenings in one place, or are they sites that are intrinsically energetically imbued?...A bit of a chicken and egg scenario.

I've been in places like this, where energy lines converge and it feels different. Things seem to flow more swiftly and there is more potential for peak experiences, and getting through stuff quicker.

Posts seem to be the case yes. I am not sure how to view views. Actually, I do not know if there is a statistics section similar to vBulletin on here. But yes, for now you have the record. :)

I believe there is something to them.
I will find some good articles for you on them....I’ve posted a few things about them, but nothing significant.

There are definitely places that have their own energy, that is for sure.
Some I think are natural, like the Ley lines, but there are also spots that have energy (good/bad) created by emotions and thought-forms of those who lived there.
Then there are purposefully created spots...probably more rare...these are “haunted" houses that used some kind of ritual to open a doorway there.
Be back with something more substantial.

Wow, and wow.
Thanks for looking.

I’m glad it seems so many are interested in the strangeness of the world.
I hope you are doing well?
