Obama leaves, America finally begins to heal.

The Roman government wanted to keep the idle masses entertained because they knew that a large group of poor people was a major threat to their empire. Therefore, the Romans enjoyed many different forms of entertainment, most of which were free. Theaters were scattered throughout the city and empire. These theaters were large, open air theaters that could seat as few as 7,000. Various plays were performed in the theaters. Events happened at all times throughout the day, although the poor normally went to sleep at nightfall because they could not afford to keep oil lamps burning.

I'm missing "The Dark Knight Returns" as a cartoon.
I dont understand, how is this related to the thread topic?

I would totally rival your position of Dark Knight, but it would totally fuck up the forum Feng Shui.

I resign myself to position of Court Jester.

The Emperor has no clothes, you see.

Haha.
Not just a jester... a joker. Harlequin, if a cross-gender villain is too much.

Nah... I'd rather be the two faced Sith lord emperor of the galaxy. (Robed or disrobed doesn't matter to me).

This thread is about Obama being a Muslim faith healer:

Obama leaves America finally - begins to heal.

The White House said Monday that Americans are safer under President Obama, despite FBI crime statistics showing that violent crime rose about 4 percent last year.

“The numbers indicate that since President Obama took office, the violent crime rate has fallen 15 percent,” said White Housepress secretary Josh Earnest, who said crime rates are still “near historic lows.”

The FBI reported Monday that violent crime rose nationwide, fueled by an 11 percent increase in homicides, particularly in some of the largest cities. Republican nominee Donald Trump has been campaigning on a promise to restore law and order.

Mr. Earnest said the president believes “there’s more that we can do.”

“The country is safer, as measured by the violent crime rate, than it was in any year under the previous four presidents,” he said.

...so is the point you're trying to make here that the crime increase from 2014-2015 is partly connected to the BLM protests and so on? If so, I could just as easily say it's connected to the fact that Trump decided to run--people suddenly felt that the stakes were higher.

Though this paper talks more about full-on repression than a sort of psychological blow like what Trump is dealing,if we're to trust it, it'd suggest that as long as local governments try to address concerns, Trump is only going to make protestors protest harder.

Now, if the media keeps going the way it's going, maybe I'm wrong, but I'd like to hear your take on all that.

What do you think is the threat of truly enlightened masses nowadays? Society has only benefited from the last batch, at least by my cursory reading.

I'm really not speculating on the cause of the crime increase. Of course I could but ultimately it would only be my opinion. I was asked to provide information showing crime had increased under Obama and that is the reason for this. Otherwise this thread continues to fly off topic.

8 years of a President blatantly and unquestionably hostile to the United States of America has left the country reeling and trying to find it's footing. Crime and murder are up all across the country. The deficit under Obama finally past the point of no return. Meaning we don't have enough money to even pay the Interest associated with the loans on it's own. Division that has been cultivated and grown leaving race relations at a low that's pushed us back what seems like at least 60 years. Support of terrorists hostile to the USA through nonaction and releasing many of the worst of them back out into the world. Turning a blind eye to North Korea. Fostering a deep divide between Russia and the US.

The list goes on and on. This thread has been created to discuss the stories we see in the news or in our daily lives where it is clear America is finally recovering from the most hostile and malicious President it has ever known. They may come slowly, the sickness has been deep and has been fed for a long time. Still, we Americans will know it if when we see it so discuss it here.

Lets look at the facts shall we. Budget deficit started going up before Obama and has since come down again [1]. Obama also lead USA through the worst financial crisis in recent history. This lead to a recession which caused government revenues to tank. On top of which, he was landed with a war that Bush started (the moron). Also, terrorists are no great threat to USA, and the threat of terrorism is not getting worse [2]. This is a fantasy of epic proportions. Crime is not up. In fact, it hasn't been this low since 1973 [3]. Anyway, the rest of your post is just utter nonsense.

Like I said, you drank the coolaid and never stopped. All of this stuff you posted has no root in reality.
Again though, this thread was not created to debate. It' was created to talk about how the country is healing after the most destructive President in history is finally leaving.

You are speculating, though--you're speculating that Obama caused the crime increase. However, this doesn't explain every other year of his presidency, when crime went down.

Ironically, Trump's decision to run being the cause fits the numbers a lot more, if we're running with this logic.

Isn't this an opinion piece? And how is this about the country healing?
If it's worth anything I felt like I was in the twilight zone after Obama won his first term, hell after the second

Crime and murder are up all across the country.

Lets just pick on this one statement, @Eventhorizon just one.

Violent Crime. By all measurements, violent crime has been decreasing over the past 20 years. There may be mulitple reasons for this decline. Some have to do nothing to with with government policy (Changing demographics of an aging population has been cited for the drop in overall crime) Some do like the increase in number of police officers increased considerably in the 1990s.

Why do you choose to ignore the stats?

I posted references to facts and you say what I said is not base in reality? I believe this is the sound of your credibility in shatters.

References from bias sources. Now stop because you are saying the same nonsensical things over and over as if it changes anything.

Bias? This just confirms you are being dishonest, again.
You are posting from sources like CNN. Absolutely bias and proven to be so. Mostly bias sources and the ones that aren't Redstate.is conservatively bias but had nothing to do with the discussion. Wtf.
You want to stay in your fantasy world. So be it.

So then why don't you post some evidence from non-biased sources to make your counterpoints? You absolutely refuse to back up your claims, so why would anyone assume that your opinions aren't right-wing biased as well?

Also, the first source he posted is government spending information compiled by Christopher Chantrill, who is a fairly hard-core conservative.

What's with the wording of the title? Trump isn't actually president yet.

I didn't reference from news agencies. So either you're confused or lying. I think both. Good day.

Compared with:
US%20prison%20population.png

The fact that the numbers incarcerated has a reverse correlation with the numbers of violent crimes does not mean that criminals are less abundant, or that crime is a declining problem, for the prison population is a problem.

Quibbling over semantics and technicalities won't address the problem, crime is related to urban poverty... and that has yet to be fixed.

The urban poor are natural democrat voters. It has never been in the democrats' interest to do anything about it. Trump is at the very least a chance for poverty and crime to be addressed.

Trump appears very much like a nationalist. His voters seem like tribal patriots that what society to be modeled in the image of some sort of Utopia that existed "at the dawn of time" (I'm deliberately exaggerating). If this is true, lets hope that Trump does not honor those wishes since they have always led to fascism, totalitarianism and communism.
