Authorities are investigating how a farmer in the US state of Oregon was devoured by his pigs.

Authorities outside of Oregon suggest it may have been orally.

His dentures and pieces of his body were found by a family member in the pig enclosure, but the rest of his remains had been consumed.

"Mommy I don't like the farmer!"

"Leave it on the side of your sty, then."

"Ouch! I've got something in my teeth. Oh wait, it's teeth."

The Coos County district attorney's office said that one of the animals had previously bitten Garner.

"He's nearly ripe. We'll leave him a bit longer."

Garner's older brother, Michael, described him as a "good-hearted guy".

An unnamed pig verified that was the best part.

the farm had been a "life-saver" for him

Not literally, apparently.

oos County District Attorney Paul Frasier told the local newspaper: "For all we know, it was a horrific accident, but it's so doggone weird that we have to look at all possibilities."

"We're rednecks, so we want to try to find a way to blame it on some black people. Yeehaw!"

Anybody else wanna take a shot at cruelly making jokes about this tragic loss of life? I'd hate to hog all of the puns.

^ That.

Here's a question: why is this in the news? Bizarre things happen all over the world. More than 99% of events that take place are not reported; so why this, on an international news website no less?

(I'm not suggesting it shouldn't be published, but I do wonder how these decisions are made. What is the process behind deciding that we ought to devote our time and mental energy to knowing about this event?)

I laughed. Cruelly. Nearly shared it too but decided it was IN BAD TASTE.
(get it? get it? bad TASTE?)

yeah, never mind.

My favorite quote is from the neighbor who simply said "What a way." Eaten by pigs.

Also -- this is the way many animals are. Disney got it all wrong, animals don't talk or go around helping Cinderella sew dresses, they eat! A lot, given the opportunity, they'll eat people or other animals... I mean I do like animals, I just have always been a little confused by people seemingly romanticizing or anthromorphising them. Or keeping large wild cats as pets, for instance. Oh, well, whatever!

I quit drinking milk when I learned farmers milked cows with infected udders that oozed puss.
Now I will never eat another pig product because I will feel like a cannibal.
Food is so gross!

Whats wrong with cannibalism? I would be happy to eat another human being if I was dying of starvation :)

I would probably starve to death, or eat dirt or bugs or go crazy and consume tree bark or sand if I were in the desert.
I've thought of what I would do if there were a catastrophe and my family and I were starving. I couldn't even eat my dogs.

That sucks, then you will lose a ton of muscle mass, what am I supposed to eat if you are all skin and bones? :(

Michael Garner said one of the hogs had bitten his brother last year, after he had accidentally stepped on a piglet. "He said he was going to kill it, but when I asked him about it later, he said he had changed his mind," he told the Register-Guard.

So basically by bothering to include this in the report, these authorities are suggesting the possibility that these pigs have been like "soon", biding their time and waiting for revenge this whole past year.

Ever since "Deadwood" I've been scared of pigs. They will eat every last bit of you.

Billy, If it's any consolation, she (sorry acd!) would probably lose most fat first. Some muscle would waste away indeed, but if she remained active enough searching for food, some muscle mass would also remain. Lean protein. Lol & :(.

Huh? Can you explain?
Creepy!

Creepy!!

Does anyone know which function or combination of functions enables these kinds of extrapolations to take place? Is it predominantly Ne? Is it Ne coupled with Ti or Te?

This is typical of these type of pigs. One of my roommates had an uncle who did the same kind of work, and he said that the pigs will crush you against a fence on purpose to hurt you and knock you over so that they can eat you. His uncle was almost eaten this way, but he was able to reach something sharp and stab the pig to escape.

So I guess you shouldn't feel bad eating pigs because they'd just as readily eat you given the opportunity.

"I like pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals."- Winston Churchill.

I never understood the big deal when Dorothy fell in the pig pen in the Wizard of Oz. Big fuggin deal right? Then I was watching Deadwood with my husband I saw Swearengen feed people to the pigs. I remember looking at him and saying..."WTF? Pigs eat people?" He was like "Yeah, you didn't know that?"

"OMG NO!"

"Oh yeah, they'll eat everything. Even the bone. Good way to get rid of a dead body."
