When did people think for themselves as a whole? Every now and then, someone comes along that tests the minds of those they touch with their words and actions. The term "reading between the lines" came about also.
I have met very few, if any, people that really care about everything going on in the world around them. It must be overwhelming. How many of our students question the books they learn from? How many people question what Congress is doing each week? How many people actually read world news every day? How many look for sources they can depend on that will give them the unbiased truths they are seeking?
A person can truly think for himself, but I question whether people as a whole will ever do so.
