Which proverb or saying have you found solace in as of late, and why (if you please)?

Often when I'm troubled by something, I may on occasion look up on the interweb, quotations on that concept, and I find sometimes I appreciate the wisdom behind the quote, as perspective for me.

Example:

"loves tongue is in the eyes"
As a person who is VERY slow to let others in, I have found that, I can cut to the chase, and tell if they really give a galsh about me by what is behind their eyes. That quote has reminded me at times, to trust what I saw in someones eyes, not what their words said...

I think it's a reference to ecstasy. It's not uncommon for people to lick each others' eyeballs while "high" on it because the drug increases the sensation of it. You can google it for further info - but I don't condone using drugs.

"To travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive"

I like this expression that rephrases the Taoist saying, "The journey is the reward.",
because lately I feel like I'm not getting anywhere, and I get so frustrated,
but I wish to remind myself to enjoy the scenery on the way,
and that I need to remember the happiness found
in the milestones I have passed.

What's the point of racing to the end,
only to arrive and immediately plan another trip?
I want to start accepting where I am,
and more fully enjoy the anticipation of where I could end up.
 
Here is a favorite of mine:

Old Italian Proverb,

Absence is to love
what wind is to fire.
It extinguishes the small,
and enkindles the great.

I love it because I am Italian and can identify with the Cultural Romanticism of the proverb.

Reminds me to live in the moment because life is so fleeting. This moment is all we ever have, live it.

"Timshel" A reminder that our outcomes are not fatalistic but a matter of human choice.
