Sanders with an S

Thanks for the link. Wow Sanders really has moved on from the day he was collecting welfare rather than having to work full time! Yeah...Hillarys net worth is only 21 mil. Like anyone believes that. Check some of those off shore accounts folks.

Anyway that still doesnt answer my question but...whatever.

Okay…please ask your question again and I will give you the most honest and least smart-assy answer I can.

Where is the break down on how its only going to cost 75 billion to send everyone to college?

Where is the break down on how its only going to cost 75 billion to send everyone to college?

HERE ARE THE SIX STEPS THAT BERNIE WILL TAKE AS PRESIDENT TO MAKE COLLEGE DEBT FREE:

1. MAKE TUITION FREE AT PUBLIC COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES.

This is not a radical idea. Last year, Germany eliminated tuition because they believed that charging students $1,300 per year was discouraging Germans from going to college. Next year, Chile will do the same. Finland, Norway, Sweden and many other countries around the world also offer free college to all of their citizens. If other countries can take this action, so can the United States of America.
In fact, it’s what many of our colleges and universities used to do. The University of California system offered free tuition at its schools until the 1980s. In 1965, average tuition at a four-year public university was just $243 and many of the best colleges — including the City University of New York — did not charge any tuition at all. The Sanders plan would make tuition free at public colleges and universities throughout the country.

2. STOP THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FROM MAKING A PROFIT ON STUDENT LOANS.

Over the next decade, it has been estimated that the federal government will make a profit of over $110 billion on student loan programs. This is morally wrong and it is bad economics. As President, Sen. Sanders will prevent the federal government from profiteering on the backs of college students and use this money instead to significantly lower student loan interest rates.

3. SUBSTANTIALLY CUT STUDENT LOAN INTEREST RATES.

Under the Sanders plan, the formula for setting student loan interest rates would go back to where it was in 2006. If this plan were in effect today, interest rates on undergraduate loans would drop from 4.29% to just 2.37%.

4. ALLOW AMERICANS TO REFINANCE STUDENT LOANS AT TODAY’S LOW INTEREST RATES.

It makes no sense that you can get an auto loan today with an interest rate of 2.5%, but millions of college graduates are forced to pay interest rates of 5-7% or more for decades. Under the Sanders plan, Americans would be able to refinance their student loans at today’s low interest rates.

5. ALLOW STUDENTS TO USE NEED-BASED FINANCIAL AID AND WORK STUDY PROGRAMS TO MAKE COLLEGE DEBT FREE.

The Sanders plan would require public colleges and universities to meet 100% of the financial needs of the lowest-income students. Low-income students would be able to use federal, state and college financial aid to cover room and board, books and living expenses. And Sanders would more than triple the federal work study program to build valuable career experience that will help them after they graduate.

6. FULLY PAID FOR BY IMPOSING A TAX ON WALL STREET SPECULATORS.

The cost of this $75 billion a year plan is fully paid for by imposing a tax of a fraction of a percent on Wall Street speculators who nearly destroyed the economy seven years ago. More than 1,000 economists have endorsed a tax on Wall Street speculation and today some 40 countries throughout the world have imposed a similar tax including Britain, Germany, France, Switzerland, and China. If the taxpayers of this country could bailout Wall Street in 2008, we can make public colleges and universities tuition free and debt free throughout the country.

Ok so the idea of reducing interest rates makes sense. In fact it makes a lot of sense and I agree with it. I dont see though anything that will keep college's from charging what ever they want unless its state run and then the state would have contol over it. I dont agree with this idea that taxing wall street will provide a solution to anything. Not that some items related to wall street cant be taxed more...only that if you do actually tax them more it would be enough to pay for much of anything.

That’s okay…I think they make far more sense than anything Trump has flapped out of his mouth.
You can find links to economists who agree and disagree with Sander’s ideas…but the status quo suck big fat balls and seriously needs to change - this plan makes the most sense to do that.
But, we are all entitled to vote however we like…(supposedly)…and that should be the voice of the people…(supposedly).
Hahaha…we’re all going to die in nuclear death.

One thing this election in the US has proven is that traditional Conservatism as started by Goldwater and practiced by Reagan is dead.

Trump is not a Conservative, not in any traditional sense of the word. The Republican base is rebelling against lower taxes for the rich, trade agreements that favour the elite, cutting social programs that favour the majority of people, low wage immigrant labour that favours the elite, and wars that also favour the elite . Traditional conservatism will still be around among the die hards and social conservatives, but its "day in the sun" that has lasted for the past 25 years, that's over now. For myself I am happy because this failed ideology damaged the fabric of America and did incalculable damage to countries around the world

The Republicans better start listening to the people and proposing programs and ideas that favour them, not just the donor class. If they refuse to do so, they will be swept into irreverence.

Not completely and I am not sure where you are getting your information. What is primarily being rebelled against is the do nothing Republicans that are in office. We do not feel as if border security is being taken seriously. We want Obamacare removed or replaced with a reasonable plan. We could care less about what elites and rich people are paying so long as if is equal to middle class. Im all for a flat tax across the board. In other words they shouldn't be paying less than everyone else. Your check list sounds like its coming from the Democrat side.

Well I agree with reduction in interest and taxes in regard to some items. And I agree that Trump isnt giving solutions to much of anything.

I don’t understand the draw to Trump past the initial aggressive upset with the government’s current status quo…but he is highly unqualified (though what makes a person qualified?) and it’s impossible to tell where he actually stands on the issues as shown by the video I have posted up twice now where Trump, denounces the Republican party as “too right” and now he’s extreme right? He’s supported abortion even partial birth. He supported tougher gun control. He’s supported reasonable immigration legislation and now he’s anti all that shit?
And some of these are fairly recent quotes and whatnot of his support…it’s not like those videos were all from 20 years ago.
I don’t see how anyone could seriously consider him as President with the misogyny, bigotry, and blatant racism that he spews.
And I agree he’s got no real plan (except his supposed “Wall” that will never get built and 11 million people will not be deported).
Especially, when keeping the hispanic and black population in prison is great from the Private Prison Industry.

Well, if they stopped committing so many crimes..

Well, if they stopped committing so many crimes..

Yep…that’s the REAL problem.
Must be their brains are different from us whites huh?

It has nothing to do with socioeconomics, institutional racism, segregation that never really ended.
You must feel really lucky to have been born white.

Auto-segregation will happen regardless, if that's what you're talking about. It's human nature to want to be around people who are like you. White flight is inevitable. It doesn't matter how much nonsense we hear about diversity.

Also, why don't East Asians face these problems?

Okay expert in east asian why?
Because they most likely do, you just don’t hear about it here in bubble land Murica.

Auto-segregation?

Auto-segregation or self-segregation is the separation of a religious or ethnic group from the rest of society in a state by the group itself.
This could also mean inability for a normal social interaction and a form of social exclusion.[SUP][1][/SUP]

Which is exactly why the poverty cycle and a blatantly racist criminal justice system perpetuate the problem.
Plus, they haven’t self-segrated…they’ve been segregated for a long time now.

You know…on a personal note being racist or feeling some white superiority will not ever take you to a good, healthy, and positive place in life.

If I responded to this honestly I would likely end up banned for a month.

Eventhorizon have you wondered why Trump is so popular? My "checklist" is Trump's platform, the platform Republicans are voting for -- in droves.

Dont agree with bigotry or blatant racism. Dont agree with any racism on his part. Dont agree that the private prison industry is why anyone is in jail. People are in jail in part because our justice system is broken but more so than anything because they belong there. It has nothing to do with the color of their skin.
The rest of it I dont get. I dont get the draw to him other than he seems like a big middle finger to the current administration and everyone who made it happen. I think people hear him swy he supports one thing one day and the opposite the next and then make the leap he really believes in what they do in the end and is just saying the other to get elected.
