science question about water and gravity

Thats cheap

This is the most expensive it's ever been and it just keeps going up. A $1.24 for one litre is way more expensive than it is down in the US where I believe it's all by the gallon. At least it's more expensive than it is down in Washington state anways.

It's about 3.7 litters to the gallon, from what I've heard what you're paying for over there has a lot to do with taxes. Washington state is actually getting gouged though, their oil doesn't come from over seas, it comes from montana, they just adjust the prices to match.

petrol is currently $1.40 in australia and the currency exchange rate has become practically equal. go figure.

Yep. We get charged tax on gas and just about everything... 13% here.

13% tax? holycrap! Makes me glad I will be moving to oregon in the fall, 0% sales tax (Montana has 0% sales tax too so it's not really a "change").

All this talk of gas prices reminds me why I don't want a car again. Public transportation FTW!

I can understand why. But, damnit, I didn't get my lisences until this summer, and I have never had one. I WILL be getting one by the end of this summer and that's the end of it! I can stomach the gas price for it. I want car!

I would have had a very very difficult life if I didn't have a vehicle. I cannot handle public transportation. My car, though I hate paying for it and want to cry every time I get gas, has been a blessing for me. Maybe not so much for the environment though lol.

I renewed my license in December and have yet to get the card in the mail. I wonder if I should be worried.

I'll also note that last time I had to get a new card I waited a long time for it because mail fraud happened. *sigh*

Haha, go for it! When you see me hitching you better pick me up though.

Oh god, the city buses make me extremely uneasy at times (especially riding home at night when I taught at the refugee center...I road through our absolute poorest parts of town) but it's sooo much cheaper in my city. There's no where to park, and passes for the lots are ridiculously priced. It can cost $1,200 USD a year to have a parking pass for the lots that are actually within walking distance of anywhere. It's ~100 bucks for a discounted bus pass a year like the one I have :)

No wonder you're saying it's cheap here. Wow. That's bad.

Haha. It reminds me of a conversation I was having with someone from London and a few Calgarians while my plane was grounded. We were talking about parking charges and the Calgarians were saying the Calgary is the most expensive place to park in Canada (I understand it is) and they were trying to make us guess how much it was. Once the girl from London told them how much it was to park here they all went quiet. I can't remember the prices but I remember it was almost as much to park in London per hour than it was to park in Calgary for a whole day.

If only siphoning gas were this
easy! :P
