Stop giving power to corporations

Being direct: unless America's liberal left goes Socialist (no, Bernie Sanders is not a Socialist) & starts nationalizing sectors of the economy, the corporate abuses they consistently complain about won't stop.

The best you can expect with Social Democratic policies is Norway which depending on your political opinion, isn't a horrible template for a country.

I don't see that happening soon and with the way politics swing, I don't think I want the government running too much.

Regulations are the current check we have and considering the money that corporations dump into politics and how republicans seem dead set on giving corporate lobbyist control over regulating the industry they worked for, I really think there's something wrong with the koolaid guys.

I sympathize, the government shouldn't have to "run too much" but if the private sector remains a pariah for an increasing number of people, there will be louder calls to get rid of it (nationalization). This isn't likely to happen soon (right-wing think-tanks, lack of an organized labor movement) but it's a worthwhile consideration.

It's definitely a serious situation. The problem I have with socializing business sectors right now is the amount of polarization in politics. Each side has a good number of radicals which I wouldn't want either of having say over the government and our industries.

I'm not necessarily against federal government. I understand centralized government helps reduce disparity, focuses our resources and acts as a safety net for all of our states. In its dysfunctional state it can obviously be weaponized. Our leaders who fear losing power will sit complicit while it happes for fear that they might lose themselves power in defense of the country... Burns my ass.
