Survey on the Rich

It's in their moral interest.

The republicunts don't like it.

I know it, between the Republicans legislating morality and the democrats stealing wealth and trying to bring about world communism we are pretty screwed. Hence why we stock up on guns they don't want us to have. Love the second amendment.

Earth. But I don't chew on hallucinogenic fungi and get insane paranoid theories though.

Couple personal questions feel free not to answer any if you dont want to explose that info.

1. How much $$$ do you control?
2. Do you own land or property?
3. Do you own an LLC or company of any kind?

3. Do the rich have an obligation (moral or other, please specifiy in your response) to pay for services provided to others (such as healthcare, insurance, government assistance programs, etc).
Wealth is relative. One person's measure of wealth is based on its relationship to those around them. There are always ways the wealthy benefit from the working class. Even working class families in the U.S. benefit from labor from workers overseas to supply cheap items in Walmart for them. In many cases they are rich by comparison.

No one "earns" millions of dollars. It is the result of benefiting from many others as laborers or consumers. Left to their natural course, those in power tend to exploit whomever they have power over and so certain safeguards are put in place in a society. It's the reason labor unions emerged to balance this tendency towards asymmetry.

I'm not going to give specifics, because I don't like to give out that info online, but in generalities...

1. Between 20,000 - 25,000 AUD in passive income annually.
2. Yes, quite a bit of land, inherited from my mothers side of the family, and my name is shared on the deeds of two houses.
3. We don't have LLC in Australia. I am a principle stakeholder in a Trust though. I won't go into further than that.

Though what that has to do with anything, I don't know.
My political opinions would be the same if I had nothing, and will be the same when I'm a multimillionaire.

I have a feeling when you are a multimillionaire your opinions might change just the littlest of bits. Especially when you see your hard earned wealth being sucked away dollar after dollar just because you had the audacity to rise above the middle class and make something for yourself and your family.

I used to hold really ridiculous ideas about wealth redistribution, salary caps etc when I was young. Then I went into business for myself and saw the reality of the situation. Socialism/communism/wealth redistribution is morally wrong, its just theft with a sanctioned name. Why other people think they are entitled to what I create for my family is beyond me, I never took anything from anybody. I can come from the gutter and overcome incredible odds to put something together, and now my government and all the jealous little haters want to punish me for it. I think that's insane. Especially since if you put me out of business you arent really hurting me... I am just going to liquidate my assets and hide the money where the government cant get to it. Some of those assets however will be peoples jobs. So the government is really hurting them. And they are by no means rich or wealthy.

I'm not an American Plutocrat. I believe that to curb crime, we need to ensure that the lowest rungs on the financial scale are cared for with regards to education, health and jobs. The best protection for my money, property and life would be ensuring that people are content and secure in themselves, so they don't have a need to take from others, including myself.

There'll always be crime, but crime is always lessened when people have their primary needs cared for.

I have a much darker view of mankind I suppose. I think people will still steal and rob and rape and murder when their needs are met. Which is why i keep an assortment of firearms and very large dogs.

But you are right jobs should be provided... not by the government though. by private enterprise.

No. Your opinion of mankind is nowhere near as dark as mine. However, humans are lazy when they're content. This doesn't mean that there aren't the real evil among mankind, but given security and contentment, most of the apathetic will lay down and ignore it.

Oh my opinions are pretty dark believe, I have seeeeeeen some shit in my day. I have always felt a bit like an optimist though and probably am by nature I don't like to wallow in "cant" and misery. Which is tough given the stuff I have seen and done and been through. Maybe thats what you are picking up on.

Either way, I dont think people are ever content and lazy, especially when you start to chip away at their ability to improve their lives. They gave everything people needed to the people living in squalor here in the 70s and 80s and it lead to the greatest crime increase in decades. Mostly because you cannot spread wealth, wealth isnt something that can be moved around it has to be made, and earned. When you give housing, food, medical aid, and welfare checks to people they dont settle down and become lazy. They lose hope and turn to drugs and violence. People dont need hand outs, they need hand ups. Opporitunity, mobility, abundance, these are things that come from capitalism. Only you arent given it, you start at the starting line with everyone else and those who have the courage, drive, ambition and intelligence to suceed do. And thier biproduct are jobs and an economy for the rest of everyone to work in and work thier way up in.

I think what you fail to see Billy, is that in the end the Mob must be placated. That is why the rich should be paying exorbitant taxes. That is why they should be 'penalized' as you see it.

Do you know why the Roman Empire was so successful?

Because those who ruled understood the fundamental concept of population control. Keep the masses fed, housed, entertained, and feeling 'safe'.

Throw them a bone once in awhile.

Then give them the illusion of being able to 'make' something of themselves.
Give them pride in their nationality to make any other 'way' seem barbaric and uncivilized.

All the while fleecing them as close as possible without cutting the skin.

The problem with this country is that the Oligarchy has forgotten how to shear its sheep and the sheep are bleeding from cuts that they can't stem. And instead of tending to their sheep properly the Oligarchy is too concerned with protecting it's profits.

The sheep are getting angry.

Precisely. Which is where that second amendment becomes something dreadful to the Plutocracy.

Yes see I understand all that and I am naught but a simple man, I say we give everyone a chance to actually make money and be successful instead of illusions.

You know what made the Roman empire truly great? Their ability to take new technologies adapt them and use them more efficiently. You know what made the roman empire fall? The bureaucratic nightmare that it became when it couldn't send out more exports than It could import. Socializing everything which is something the Empire did more in its latter days ruled by a single Emperor with control over everyone else's wealth then using that to entertain a mob wasnt good for the Roman population, which is probably why it began to fail eventually when it couldnt raise an army of Romans any longer

If the Sheep are getting mad, well... not much can be done about that. Its true, you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink. The fact that our country utterly swims in opporitunity for success and only a small % of people actually utilize it while the rest sit back and expect hand outs, well we are use to that, those of us who arent going to sit back and wait for hand outs i mean. But if you think that a few angry haters is going to scare us into giving up what we earned to them... well I would just rather close shop and move my money offshores and leave all of you to the Gulag nightmare you seem to want. Thats a last resort though. Until that time, we will continue to wage a war of self reliance and dignity in the face of the unwashed masses who want something for nothing.

I wouldn't see why, we have many guns. Much better ones in fact than most can afford.

You need to go back and study your ancient history.
