@TomasM is it a "proxy war" ? Seems the Ukrainians really do object to the Russian attempt at subjugating them.

It’s never a proxy for the country that hosts the majority of the battles. It is however a proxy for other countries that have geopolitical ambitions.

yeah but Russia's proxy in this war is.....Russia. This is like saying the American Revolution was a proxy war between France and England, and the colonists were simply subjected to geopolitical forces that have been mounting over a long period of time

That’s debatable but I understand your perspective.

My point was that it is a proxy war for the US and I don’t believe we have any reason to be engaged. Biden put us in that war for the money and the US had no reason to be engaged in that conflict unless we look at the situation as NATO and Russia having geopolitical issues. The problem with that is NATO should not be initiating conflict through expansion, yet it is. NATO is not a country.
