Walking my dog around in the wooded park I frequent, we are too far for picking up his mess. Many others just leave theirs there unsuspecting in the dead leaves and grasses. I stopped going back with a shovel, and started dragging leaves and such over it. It left a neat circle telling everyone not to step there. Other dogs must be visiting for other things, as each pile of leaves is visited by others to leave their scents. They are like poo-poo tee pees with a clearing around them. I've noticed at least where one other person is covering for unsuspecting walkers.
Thankfully, my dog notices other poo piles with an advanced warning system. Sometimes a simple sniff is worth a lot.
