(un)ordinary means of communication

Savouring the bugs picked from your neighbour's hair with relish.

writing your message on their front door in ketchup

The use of mathematically-enhanced choices of words from posts on the web. Specific choices could lead to other forums or news media for more content, then bounce back and forth to other media.
Some codes could lead to previous posts or different threads. If using specific harmony in writing music and poetry is so simple, imagine the vastness of communicating with the use of common, every day posts like this one.
The wearing of specific clothing on specific days.
Parking in unusual places or turned in different directions. Going somewhere different for breakfast. Dialing a wrong number. Listing something on fleabay. Removing a listing. Editing a listing. Walking to a mailbox at a specific time of day. Looking at the river at lunch. I could get carried away with this one, but don't want to meddle in the affairs of others too much.
Spinning tires in the dirt when leaving somewhere. Buying something specific at a specific time.

A game of sign language telephone.

Throw a brick threw his window with a letter on it .

put the message on a baseball and play catch with it

space racquetball

one letter per coffee bean, dispersed globally in different bags. Good luck

1. Hide words sporadically throughout town, make them hunt for them, and then have them try to figure out the message.
2. Write it on tiny grains of rice and provide a magnifying glass.
3. Smoke signals (was that mentioned already)
4. Trace the letters on their back and make them guess.
5. Record your message over one of their favorite movies, right when it gets to the good part so you know they get it.

"4. Trace the letters on their back and make them guess."

I love this!

Not to mention that it can be pretty sensual. ;)

*Uses interpretive dance to ask for brownies and cupcakes.*
