What is the right way to love?

I'm not sure that there is a right way, but there are wrong ways to love. Calling something that is not love is wrong. There are also many values that I believe do not correspond to true love. I believe love is not selfish, but the 'love' that I see on TV is selfish. Everyone has to make a living, but it is a shame to see bad soap operas talk about 'love'.
 
The "right way" would be in ways that the other person appreciates. Some people want their lovers to make it clear to everyone that they are theirs as a show of love and devotion. Other people believe affection should be private, and a public declaration or display would only make them uncomfortable.
