What movies influenced your life?

Playing off of Lucidmoon's post - What movies influenced your life?

I take this as meaning a movie that changed the course of one's life. Or, helped make sense of a difficult time.
For me, when I was going through drug & alcohol treatment the Blake Edwards movie "The Days of Wine and Roses" had a huge impact on me.

I can't say I have ever watched another movie that left me as speachless as this one did.
Strong stuff for a movie made in 1962.

I'm sure I could come up with more

Lost Highway.

This scene is the visual representation of my growth from age 17 to 28:

This movie had a lot more adult themes than I realized as a kid. It definitely stayed with me for a long time afterwards.

I tried to rep you but I cannot give rep as I must spread more before I am able to give it to you again. NOoooo....

I love this movie. SOOO much. This movie and Unico in the Island of Magic = my all time favorite childhood movies. Unfortunately, I don't really know anyone who has even heard of Unico. It has to be this particular Unico though, there was one before this that wasn't as good in my opinion.

There are a lot of movies I truly enjoy but I don't know how many of them influenced my life. Here's one that I am sure did.

I will never forget the first time I saw this movie. It's like the lights came on and I could suddenly see. It's also one of the most romantic movies I have ever seen.

This movie was a great surprise. very sexy!!

ontheroadtohope OMG The Princess and the Warrior is one of my favorite movies EVER. I don't know too many people who have seen it (other than those I've forced to watch it.)

I actually saw this in the theater and liked it too. Sooo much better than Run, Lola Run.

I've never met someone who's seen The Princess and the Warrior and I figure most people wouldn't form such a connection to it. But that makes it all the more special to me. :)

To lucidmoon, who said it was better than Run Lola, Run: THANK YOU!!

haha... No worries, neptunesguns. I appreciate the thought.

Secret of NIMH had a big impact on me as a kid (I was 7 when it came out). It made me think about all sorts of things I hadn't yet considered (everything from issues of animal cruelty to moral dilemmas like the 'borrowing' of power from the farmer), but most importantly showed me how a single person (err, mouse) could change circumstances through persistence and the power of the heart. Plus, it's just a great movie! Possibly a little dark for a 7 year old, but that intensity was part of what made the film an all-time favorite.

I fell in love with Don Bluth's work/animation after seeing NIMH, and still love playing the old Dragon's Lair and Space Ace arcade games. I also got a tattoo from Titan A.E. - mainly out of respect for Bluth, but also because the symbol's meaning is thematically connected to the Secret of NIMH. I'm a big kid, really. :)

I haven't heard of Unico, but it looks like it might be available on DVD. I'll check it out sometime.
