  • Funny you should say that. I actually regenerated some of my energy today. We went to the beach and just relaxed. I had my first icecream this summer too, which probably explains my slightly upped mood.

I'm ready to get into the ring again. For sure.

Still, something is gnawing at me. I can't believe Mike hasn't messaged me all week. He said he'd call me the next day, but never did. And I don't know what to make of it. It sort of upsets me. Sort of, because it well, while I don't like the neglect, I know he's likely busy... and because a bit of anger always adds a little fuel to the motivational fire.

How about you, my dear? What's been going on in your life? How is everyone at work holding up after that whole ordeal?
Thanks for your little message of encouragement on my blog. *hugs* Things are tough right now, yeah, but feeling sorry for myself is exactly what brought me to this point in the first place. I gotta fight, fight, fight. Even if I'm tired. Especially if I'm tired. And then I gotta fight some more.

But it's always nice to know I've got great people like you in my corner. Thanks, lovely :)
Yeah, it definitely was. I've been doing some genealogy lately and discovered we have Blacks in our family tree. I was so excited; I don't know why. I thought I was mostly Irish and Cherokee on that side of the family with a true Heinz 57 on the other.Anyway, it cleared up one mystery. There are two spellings used of my grandmother's birth name and the story goes the Blacks were given their "owners'" last name, as was common. After the Emancipation Proclamation, the former slaves changed their last name by one letter, creating terrible confusion for an amateu genealogist. Anyway, long story, but I've been wanting to tell you since I found out.
I don't doubt for a second that it's tough, that's why I find it so admirable that you do manage to keep it together like that. I would've completely lost it, despite knowing that this would've been precisely the response this person would've been looking for. You're awesome, Arby. Let's not side-step the issue, here. :)
Do you ever get the whole
"But you're not black-black" or the "You're not like other black people" crap? I hate that. I am like other black people. Were you expecting me to speak slang? Sheesh. That's one of the most annoying things.
R u really 40? You don't look it. It seems like a lot of INFJs look young when they get older, awesome!
I mean just think, if we put a tax on each container of soda at $0.10, if the average american drinks 300 a year, that'd be 30 dollars per person, times 300 million equals 9 BILLION dollars annually (give or take) but that's a HUGE amount of money.
It's so simple that it could easily work

which means it sadly never will. I can see it now, people would get their nickers in such a knot.
I'm going to quote you here because I can't give you rep at this point in time. But I agree!

"Seriously. The junk food vending machines near my office are ridiculously priced at $1.25 for a can of soda, when you can get it comparatively for pennies at the local convenience store. But people still sell out the vending machines. Why? Because they want it.

Add an extra ten cents to every candy bar, every soda, every potato chip and every cookie in the United States and people will still pay for it. Heck, they probably won't even complain about it.

    They haven't so far.

Then use that money to go to health care.

I can't say it will solve all the problems, but if you're unhealthy because you're eating junk food, then let's tax the junk food. Same as cigarettes, same as booze"
