I can't think of a film that has penetrated those themes so well. I mean, Bergman makes films about things that are so hard to express and to explain. It's like the whole INFJ thing, we have thoughts and feelings that most people can't comprehend. This issue of a mother oblivious to how she affected her daughters growth... it hits home hard.
Imagine if you had a session where you told certain people in your life exactly how you felt. Absolutely open the flood gates to all that pent up feeling. They way it builds up tension as well, it's drenched in dread. Fucking perfect script and incredible acting.
