I understand that. But if the child was to grow up without any influence from society? That's what I was driving at. Even in that thread, everyone wanted to make a decision for the kid. What if the kid grew up in a jungle (and not a gendered society), what would their perception of themselves be? I know it's a long shot and unrealistic, but I can't help but wonder how much of it all is socially contrived, or a psychological byproduct.
The person being a child makes the topic all the more sensitive to me. For longest time, society and parents have been telling children who to be and what to become.
