The one in Richardson is actually good if you're just starting to do the con circuit. It's not very large, it's fairly inexpensive, it's more family-friendly (so the skimpy bikini costumes are usually left at home), and you can meet some bona fide star folk and get your pictures taken with them. I like it, mostly because it feels more friendly and less commercial (for fans, by fans, and all that). They actually have one this weekend (the sci-fi expo: http://www.scifiexpo.com/DCC/Home/Home.html). You should check it out! They're fun. I'd go, but I'm working this weekend, and my car is not happy with me.
Hee! Actually, A-Kon is the once con I *haven't* gone to. I've gone to Dallas Comic Con and the fan conventions around Richardson, but not A-Kon. From what I hear, though, it's wild and quite a number of folks cosplay.
Well uh okay, thanks. Yeah it's me. I wouldn't fake an image on a site for props. I'd feel like a creep. And not even the good kind that gets girls, like the creepy kind that lies to people over the internet and meets them at coffee shops midday to reveal they're true fat selves.
