The INTPs I've known often seem hyper-immersed in the mental world, and when they have to do something practical, they're a little odd about it.

My intp housemate, during University would take his turn to cook for the share-house by following a recipe EXACTLY. If the recipe said "dice the carrots into 1cm cubes", he would get a ruler out, to check the cubes were EXACTLY 1cm CUBES.

That is bizarre; I've never encountered an INTP like this, and I've known many of them very well throughout my life. Perhaps I'm blind to the oddity.

You're an intp. Perhaps a combination of bias and excessive immersion in the mental world jades your observations.
