For some reason I'm understanding this sentence not as "above average IQ" outcasts, but as "above average" IQ outcasts.

God, I hope I belong to that category.

2a. I don't think this benefits me in any way, except that I can entertain myself by studying and thinking.
2b. IQ ≠ knowledge.
2c. People with lower IQs get along better in general society and life.
