Drop everything! Where would you travel today?

I got to reading about the Permian-Triassic extinction event, as one does, and apparently Siberian volcanos had a part in that catastrophe. And that reminded me about the whole Dyatlov tragedy and weirdness.

So maybe there.

I will exclude travel to see someone, but travel to be at some place. I am also not specifying today, as in right now.

I suppose in late September, I want to be in Banff National Park or maybe Jasper. I want a rustic room with a nice wood burning stove.

The other is a beach vacation such as Corona beer commercials visualize although with my complexion, I might burn to death! A place that is isolated and serene.

Japan. So many reasons. The beautiful temples and Zen gardens. Don't know if I could climb Mount Fuji but would travel to see it at least. I'd visit Tokyo - I've heard about the incredible food scene and want to eat in some of the restaurants! Maybe have a drink of sake. I would also like to take an onsen (natural hot spring bath). I'd arrange to stay at least one night in a Ryokan (traditional Japanese inn).

The British Pub in St. Augustine, Fl. Ran across it accidentally while wandering around the commercial area after hours years ago. An unusual, rustic hole-in-the-wall with a steady stream of drunk travelers, expats, and cultural curios.
