global warming

global warming?

  • Is happening and man made

  • Is happening and natural

  • Is not happening, greens are hysterical

  • Is just a distracting ploy

  • Is an attempt to establish a world government.

Ok @Billy let's agree to differ. I'll base my thinking, on what I see as the most credible scientific institutions, and the evidence they provide. I meant no offence, we just disagree.

@Stu yes I see California is taking a leading role, if it was a country, It'd be the sixth largest economy in the world (bigger than France). More importantly, I think the collection of hi tech progressive companies there bode well for America generally.

My guess for the "next gen" energy supply would be fusion, or hydrogen. But I'm not a scientist. I really don't think it'll be finite non renewable sources.
They dont have any evidence, thats the problem they're running into. Climate models are not evidence nor is consensus. For example just 2 weeks ago the consensus was that all humans come from Africa, totally disproven with 1 bit of physical evidence that falsifies the out of Africa theory.

hahaha domino effect of earth quakes...

Yes that would be quite a laugh wouldn't it.
The idea that we could cause an EarthQuake is truly laughable... I guess we missed our courses on tectonic plate shift.

The difference is they are naturally created. No need to be sarcastic either.

I'm sorry Billy but they're two very different subjects. If you're saying you don't like science ? Ok. That's you're right. Science isn't perfect but it's the best, most valuable method humans have ever developed, to survive and improve our well being, whilst being alive imho.

We're able to have this discussion via the internet, across thousands of miles, because of it.

consensus and models is not science. sorry, but maybe you can get around to explaining why increased co2 doesbt actually come before heat rising.

Um @Billy the whole out of africa thing is completely disproved? Would you care to share a link to some kind of evidence for that?
im on my phone atm, but look up the far older pre human remains found in the balkans, it came out a week ago. pre dating austrolopithicas by several million years.

Billy. It does. Computer modeling is used in vast areas of scientific research, and has been for very many years. It's an incredibly powerful way to progress studies. You've seen the Greenland ice sheet, the bleaching of Great Barrier Reef ? The Arctic floating ice melt ?

Let's just agree to differ. I think you've side stepped the points I raised about scientific development. What about energy independence ? That race is on Billy. And fracking isn't the future.

The world's power comes from the sun. The sun operates on nuclear fusion. That's almost certainly the future. Cheap, safe, clean energy. Even if global warming didn't exist. Who doesn't want that ?

I'm just really glad Trump is showing intellegence and putting Ameica first. Hopefully we start using real science and scientific processes to figure out what's actually causing the earth to warm up. But as it is now...it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

yes i see that climate changes naturally, you have still not explained what humans have to do with that, did you see 3 billion years ago when the earth was a molten dead cinder? that also had nothing to do with humans. climate changes and then co2 changes to it. this os what the facts show, not that co2 causes temperature rises.

CO2 is not a pollutant. But it's a heavy green house gas that traps heat. As the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere increases, the more heat is retained.

Has the burning of fossil fuels by humans increased the CO2 level ? Yes. Even the most skeptical of scientists accept that. Honestly ? I'm not worried, as I think its probably too late even if CO2 emissions dropped to zero today. Once the "change" is tripped, it's probably too late to go back. Ultimately natural or man made, if the climate changes. we need to be prepared for that. Drought, sea level rises, disruption to populations. Not pretty.

Irrespective getting the "next gen" energy source tech, ahead of the competition is the right thing to do. I could be way off. But having that tech matters either way. Watching the Chinese premier shaking hands with Angela Merkel makes me think they feel the same.

The story of Noahs ark is a very old story James. Human life started on Venus and then one day, an older incarnation of Al Gore opened his mouth and all was lost.

You're right, national socialism was not about socialism, like at all

Learn your history! Nazism was not about socialism it was socialist in name only and dedicated to protecting corporations and free markets. Any Nazis that were anti-capitalist (the Strasserist faction were exterminated during the Night of the Long Knives (like Röhm) or forced into exile. Business leaders like Fritz Thyssen of Krupp Industries urged Hitler to purge the party of these elements and he was than willing to do their bidding

Omg our elevators! They're Nazi elevators!
