After years of being "lukewarm" on Typology, I finally figured out I am, in fact INFJ.

Imagine a Ni Dom having a long, drawn-out existential dread about not knowing who they are and then a very magical "Aha!" moment about being INFJ.

Absolutely exhilarating.

Relief right?

Yes. Closure to a question I had for SO LONG that SIMULTANEOUSLY EXPLAINS how my brain works. TBH, I only cried about a day or so after realizing what it meant. Initially, it was a great relief. Then, it just sorta hit me like a ton of bricks, and I got super emotional about it. So, first, it was this amazing existential relief. Then came the tears after.

Welcome to the club my friend. You are among your people now. It’s an awesome feeling knowing you’re not alone after a lifetime of being shunned and outcasted isn’t it?

Yes. Obviously, because I am Ni Dom, I don't actually "know" I fit in here yet, but it makes sense on paper.
Pretty sure over time you’ll come to realize it and if you don’t yet then a simple read through most of the previous threads on this forum will cause you to have your epiphany or as you like to say your “ah ha” moments more often the more you read. If however you’re currently in the emotional overload stage process right now then simply take your time with it and come back to the forum later to continue reading through them. I think you’ll find them more enlightening the longer you are here and the more you’ll hear yourself in other people’s voices and experiences.

Yes, you may be right. But I have experienced some pretty significant trauma in my life, so coming to a place of trust is not really easy for me.

Unfortunately so have most of us. I totally get it. Take your time. I’m not in any means trying to hurry you or persuade you one way or another but over time I hope and pray that you’ll come to realize you are “safe” here. I understand it will take a great deal of time so keep to yourself if you need to, observing instead of contributing, doing what makes you comfortable versus doesn’t make you comfortable and most people here will go at the pace that you set as we tend to be more sensitive than most about intuitively picking up on what you need in order to feel safe and welcomed in here.

Thank you. That sounds super great!
