No longer a shared perception of reality

I am so proud of ya'll for staying on topic and not turning this into a political debate :tearsofjoy:

In term of the unfortunete event of Charlie Kirk shooting, it probably has more to do with how people consume media today than a an actual difference in our shared reality which, to me, I got as the essense of your thread, and two some extent I do agree.

I mean I've had debates with people where we both agree on the intepratations yet our conclusions are somehow tototally different.

This kinda issue maybe more prevelant In my generation especially. Technology moved so fast that within a relatively short time, information became incredibly easy to access. Reaching a conclusion on new issues stopped being the main challenge — instead, it became about questioning everything and thinking critically about what we’re seeing and basically asking the right questions in the first place.

I think it’s important not to overthink these dynamics, but also not to oversimplify them.

At the end of the day, it really comes down to compassion for one another, and to setting boundaries between what we recognize as interpretation and what we agree are facts.

Just thought I'd add my 2 cents. 👍

We can set natural boundaries naturally with our brains doing all the work for us. Funny how one boundary may be "stay away from hot water". We walk up to the secure boundary, take a shoe off, then test the water with our toes. Thus, we find ourselves more curious about boundaries because we just want to know.

"Don't take of the fruit of the tree of knowledge and evil", for example. We question the "why not" aspect of it more than we question those we can partake from.

I feel we should still think for ourselves the majority of times, so we can pass this down as we walk through life. Use the search engines to check things as needed, but stay away from checking AI as our "go to" source for thinking.

Compassion for one another? Exactly so. I agree whole-hearted.

I'll pay for your next two cents if you will share more with us. I, for one, like hearing from others.

I like hearing from others as well. This forum is great in the fact that since I have been using it I have seen no real clashes of different viewpoints. People on it may not agree but then they simply agree to disagree and move on. There seems to be enough insight on here where someone will post something and someone else will say something to the effect of “well I hadn’t really thought of it that way” or “I can see how you’d think that way and can respect where you’re coming from” and there’s no over analyzing or putting words in one another’s mouths. There is only mutual respect towards each other. As a result I have learned a great deal of knowledge and the more I learn the happier I get especially if it’s in areas I’m interested in otherwise I may scroll through it and not post anything since I have nothing to contribute but I find this environment fascinating. All personality types can come together, bounce ideas off one another, and do so in an environment that welcomes out of the box thinking. This has been like a dream come true for me all my life.
