Physical Contact

Sensitive: I am very.

Hugs: In this cold, dreary world of ours, I always jump at an opportunity to give or receive a hug. If it's a stranger, so what? Me and my parents don't, so that makes up for it. Chugga chugga choo choo down the freezer aisle slides the love train every 3 afternoons looking for a bag of peas, chicken and hugs.

I struggle with this mightily because, although I am affectionate with my own spouse and children, I am not comfortable being hugged by others. Unfortunately, there are some women in my church who just love to invade my space. I have been known to literally run away or go to the other side of the room to avoid this. I don't know when this hugging others became so socially acceptable. I would never presume to hug anyone other than family or a very close friend. Seeing someone a couple of times a month at church does not qualify.

If I say anything, though, it's going to be misread as me being not very nice and I really don't like hurting people's feelings.
